Bedford Town Centre (Riverside) hotel

Stayed here with the family and had a lovely stay, was in a convenient location for the event we were attending. We had a warm welcome with Sarah who offered to help with our luggage. Breakfast and dinner with a view was great! Friendly staff,clean room. Definitely one of the best premier inns we’ve stayed in over the years.

We booked three rooms for a festival weekend. On arrival, it was immediately clear the hotel was understaffed — we waited to check in with one staff member, while the only other was busy dealing with multiple complaints about room standards. Our bedroom was acceptable overall, although the bed was poorly made. However, the toilet was dirty (the same issue occurred in a friend’s room). We reported this and waited around 15 minutes for it to be cleaned. Unfortunately, the cleaning was done without gloves, and the staff member then touched our door, public doors, and lift buttons — a clear hygiene concern. The room had also been set up for a single guest despite being booked for two, so we had to request extra glassware. There was no shower gel, and only a few sheets of toilet paper were supplied. Given how often we had to visit reception, I asked for the room’s reception phone number, but no one answered when I tried. On a positive note, the manager offered us a free breakfast for our troubles. However, since checking out, I have contacted the hotel twice regarding a lost item — my partner’s white cane (he is partially sighted). On both occasions, staff promised to check lost property and call me back. I am still waiting for that call. I hope management addresses these issues, particularly hygiene practices, staffing levels, and follow-up on lost property. I have submitted a formal complaint to head office and am awaiting a response.

I stayed here in June 2025 for 6 nights and came back August 2025 for another 6 nghts for many reasons. 1) the staff is wonderful attentive and friendly, 2) the hotel is located in a perfect setting with the boardwalk directly outside of the entrance, 3) it is a very safe and clean area outside, 4) perfectly located next to a movie theatre, shopping mall, town centre, pubs, restautants, night clubs and of course directly on the river and when you walk out you do not have to cross the roads to get to the riverside it is located perfectly with your own baardwalk, which also has restaurants and bars located on it. My room was spacious with once again a pefect view, very clean and anything I needed was always provided promptly. I have video chatted with friends and family and on their next trip they will not go to London they are coming to Bedford because of the wonderful atmosphere and pefect location.

This rating is specifically for Michelle 👇🏽 This is just to say a huge thank you to blonde Michelle in the kitchen who showed us such kindness during our stay at Premier Inn, Riverside Square, Bedford.   Michelle showed warmth and courtesy towards my 97-year-old mother, going the extra mile in her attentive service.  She is a true pearl to be appreciated for her professionalism, humaneness, and generosity of spirit.  Thank you and bless you, Michelle. Rooms are too small, family room is just a regular room with an extra bed in it so it gets tighter than a regular room. No parking lot, a lot of smoke smell in and around the hotel elevator stops and hallways except just the 7th floor hallway seemed to have been cleaned of the smell.
