Jersey St Helier (Charing Cross) hotel

My second visit to the hotel with my special needs young adult nephew. For comfort and value in pricey Jersey . Its a good price. Location superb right in the heart of all of St Helliers amenities, and a ten minute stroll from the ferry port. The twin room was quite large , and good day light however the views were poor of apartments and buildings , directly facing you ! For meals as it was Saturday night I was a bit apprehensive on a busy Saturday night looking for somewhere to eat so ordered The meal deal. The dinner was ok average , slow service as only one overworked server dealing with food and drinks, it seemed as if the chef seemed to step in to help. There was a fire alarm at around 05:40 leading to an evacuation outside. Despite about 40 minutes of disruption no explanation or apologies to guests! Breakfast was better than dinner not a bad hot buffet fresh selection. In general good value great location in this lucrative area. Do research where to eat dinner in advance as there are many places around. Last time I ate at The fish and chip shop , behind which was a great choice.

May 13th,just had the MOST awful breakfast at premier inn charing cross Jersey.everything was stone cold and not much cooked stuff out at all,not good quality as well,bacon floating in oil.went to complain and was told the electrics had gone down and I should have microwaved my full English.actually the place should not have been open.paid £22.been here many times with my family who live in Jersey and put excellent reviews on,will not be returning.

The hotel is a fine place to stay, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is basic for a premier inn breakfast but does the job. The restaurant food was average so I would definitely recommend eating else where. The location is very central so there are loads of places to eat nearby including a fish and chip sit in/takeaway restaurant. The main reason for this review is that front of house staff were really unprofessional, rude and unhelpful including the general manager who, as a man, made us as two women feel belittled. Rather than just correcting the error which was that premier inns system had over charged us, the manager went out of his way to convince us we hadn’t been overcharged. Luckily one of his own staff members spoke up and said that what he was saying was wrong and it wasn’t us misunderstanding. It’s not the standard I would expect from premier inn and it lets the whole team down. Had this not happened, I would have stayed again.

Friendly and helpfulstaff, comfortable bed, good TV, good blackout curtains, clean and very quiet. Excellent breakfasts and great location.

Location is lovely but web site fails to mentio that the hotel is marooned in a pedestrian only area. INFACT it gives driving instructions that cannot be completed because broad street is no traffic not even taxis except comercial deliveries so they can get their sheet but for any guests its drag your suit cases 200 yards from the nearest carpark. States of jersey confirmed that this is a long term plan so there is no excuse for the web site to be in error other than it whould likley have a significant inpact on occupation.
