"Up the Service"
This hotel needs an update in servicing. Kiosks broken on arrival - so why send me a QR code to scan. ‘Oops’ signs in lift for the four nights we were there. Restaurant - don’t bother. We tried to eat one night - 50 minute wait and ‘sorry, we have no fish, no steak, no chicken’. But we do have all the desserts. So we left. And why do I have to ask for my room to be serviced? I pay for it so just do it. And when I asked for the room to be cleaned - ‘oh, we are only doing bins and towels today’. GET A GRIP. This is a hotel chain not a hostel chain. Seriously not good enough. Shame really as the hotel is well located , quiet and clean. Hence three stars and not one.
"Alan on the reception desk five star"
We stayed here last week five couples for three nights ,to attend a family funeral We all had a rooms on the third floor the room was clean but pretty tired . The clothes hook on bathroom door was missing and paint work badly marked The plus side you get a good nights sleep in a premier inn bed. Alan on reception resolved any minor issues that any in our party group had.
"An ok place sleep, that’s about it."
Positives: Decent bed, clean enough, quiet. Negatives: The WiFi was an absolute joke. The ultimate WiFi was supposed to be able to stream? Don’t make me laugh, it was barely good enough to be able to use messenger. Should’ve been told at arrival one would have to tell the reception we’d like a room turn-over. Paid for the premium room for better WiFi and a coffee machine. There was a total of 2 pods when we arrived, two different coffees. When we finally realised we had to ask to have our room done we were thankfully given 4 pods of the same coffee. Next day, another room turn-over request but then nothing happened???? The card was placed back in our room but nothing was done inside, and ofc no more coffee. Stayed at a few premier inns and this one is the first I’ve thought I never want to stay at again, unfortunately. EDIT: Premier Inn didn’t allow this review to be submitted to TripAdvisor through their questionnaire because of “profanities”. The text above is copied and pasted from said review.
"Thankyou Alan, and your team for a fantastic stay."
Thank you for a brilliant stay, from the warm welcome by reception on check in, to the final goodbye on leaving. The standard of the room was very high, clean, and fresh. The bathroom was spotless. The room was very quiet during the night with a peaceful sleep. I stayed for 2 nights at the end of my time in Jersey. The staff were so friendly and made my stay enjoyable. Dinner on my first night was exceptional and to a high standard. I started with the chicken goujons, followed by a very tasty steak cooked to perfection. The meals at premier inn all over the uk are from the same basic menu, but the friendliness of the staff and the quality are what counts and here at Bath street they shine out......the bonofii cheesecake was one of the best I have had in a long time. Breakfast on both days was of a high standard with quality and choice. The whole stay was excellent and made special by the whole team....well done Alan and thank you again. I will definitely be back when in Jersey.
"Jersey superb visit."
Premier Inn, Bath Street. Our room was the typical room we expect from Premier Inn. However, the service was poor, meals were absolutely basic, and the breakfast was so bad, fried eggs that were supposed to be freshly cooked were like egg frisbies. Continental breakfast, don't make me laugh, no cooked meats or cheese, no fruit (apart from a couple of apples). No yoghurt. Sausages been cooked for hours before, bacon frazzled under the light that keeps them hot. Reception, automatic check in, both terminals out of use for all of our stay. Only one lift in use as the other was stuck on the 4th floor for the whole of our stay. Our room, VERY SQUEEKY floorboards in bathroom, I shudder to think what the room below us could hear? They must have been disturbed by the noise of our floorboards. I honestly think that this hotel should have a visit from a "secret shopper" this would highlight the problems with the hotel and some of the staff. I paid for a superior room, the wi-fi was supposed to be upgraded but I could only access the free wi-fi which was not good. Staff training. I think as a whole they could do with a little basic training on how to speak to customers. Staff training. I think as a whole they could do with a little basic training on how to speak to customers. Not refer to customers as "darling". Bathroom had a bath in it, which became very slippery and probably a danger to an elderly customer when having a shower. We asked for a bath mat but a tiny bath towel was provided. We did ask again and we received the bathmat on our 3rd night's stay. I think that proper non slip bath mats should be provided and not have to be requested for at reception. I have sent the above review to Premier Inn, hopefully they might act on it. Bath Street is a little out of the way for most of the amenities of St Helier It's 30 minute walk from Liberty bus station, maybe a little less if you are young and fit and not wheeling 2 suit cases. Don't hire a car, the parking is horrendous. We travelled on the buses on a 3 day bus pass. Excellent bus service. Get the bus from the airport to St Helier every 15 minutes or so and reasonably priced, £5.60 for a couple. Do take the road train from Liberty Square to St Aubin, a beautiful town to visit and have lunch. 35 minutes each way with a great commentary on the islands history. War tunnels are worth a visit as is the German gun turret at St Catherines. Another visit we enjoyed was to the Jersey pearl showroom. The drive through Corbiere is spectacular and not to be missed. Get the bus to all the attractions. We will definitely return to Jersey, but maybe another hotel.
