Coronavirus (COVID-19): Premier Inn update

Things to know before arrival

We’re so excited to be welcoming you back to stay with us once again. With restrictions lifting across the UK, most of our hotels and restaurants are now open to guests again. These are new steps for all of us and it’s going to take some time to adjust, please be considerate towards our team members and other guests during this time.

With so many guests returning, and with our additional Premier Inn CleanProtect hygiene measures in place, we’ve changed our check-in time to make sure we have enough time to get your room ready for you. Between 7th July and 30th September check-in will be available from 4pm. We know you’re raring to go and a later check-in time is a hassle, but your safety is our number one priority – thank you for bearing with us.

Manage existing bookings

Recognising the need for more flexibility, we have changed all of our room rate products to offer clear choices around cancelling or re-arranging bookings.  All our rates, with the exception of non-flex,  now offer the ability to amend on a like for like basis right up to 1pm on the day of planned arrival or to cancel within the terms and conditions of the specific room rate for a full refund.

If you need to amend or cancel an existing booking, the easiest and fastest way is to use our self-service tools to manage your booking. Easy-to-follow video guides are available on our contact us page.

Due to high demand, our customer call centre is currently very busy. If you have a question about an existing booking, we recommend reviewing our FAQs which includes links to the terms and conditions of our bookings on our rates page.

It’s really important to make sure you’re happy with the terms and conditions of the rate you choose before you book as we won’t be able to offer changes or refunds outside the amendment or cancellation window for the product you choose.

For the avoidance of doubt, as the situation evolves with any local/travel restrictions and government guidance, our rate conditions will still apply and we will not be offering refunds for cancellations which fall outside of the applicable t’s and c’s – there is however always the ability to amend your booking to a date within 18 months of your original booking on a like for like basis (please see the terms and conditions).

Please note, we will not be able to offer refunds for cancellations which fall outside of the terms and conditions applicable to your rate type, noting in particular the enhanced flexibility we have provided with our rates. This means unfortunately we will be unable to enter into any correspondence in this regard, regardless of the circumstance for cancellation.

However in the event the Government introduces stricter lockdown measures which makes it illegal for Premier Inn to permit you to stay at the hotel you’ve booked (for example we are only allowed to let key workers stay and you are not a key worker), we will consider refunds on a case-by-case basis. You remain responsible for your own compliance with law and you should ensure that you keep up to date with regulations and guidance applicable to you. Individual personal circumstances do not change the position under our terms and conditions, so when you book please ensure you choose the levels of flexibility which suit you. Where we cannot accept your booking due to legal requirements on us, we’ll need to contact you to cancel and refund or amend.

Everything you need to know about COVID-19 when staying in our Premier Inn hotels in Germany

The travel guidelines in Germany are a little different than they are in the UK right now, so if you’re thinking of visiting our Germany hotels, please read through this thoroughly before checking in with us.

Overnight stays in our Premier Inn hotels in Germany are currently permitted for necessary travel reasons, business trips and leisure stays. Any quarantine regulations must be met when entering Germany, and keep in mind that these requirements may change at short notice.

Currently, all our hotels in Germany are following the 3G rule, regardless of different rates or regulations in local areas, which means that guests must follow the 3G guidelines while on site with us.

What this means for you

The 3G rule of Getested – Geimpft – Genesen’ – which in English translates to ‘Tested – Vaccinated – Recovered’ – is a three-step check system in effect across most public spaces in Germany. To stay in one of our hotels in Germany, you must have at least one of the following:

Tested: Proof of a negative COVID-19 test – this can’t be any older than 24 hours at the time of check-in, and self-tests won’t be accepted. Providing proof of a negative test must also be repeated on site every three days, or

Vaccinated: Proof that you’ve been completely vaccinated – you must be checking in at least 15 days after receiving your second dose of a vaccination or your first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccination, or

Recovered: Proof of a PCR test – evidence of a PCR test showing that you had COVID-19 in the past which must be a minimum of 28 days old and a maximum of 6 months old.

Please bear in mind that the 3G rule is in addition to other guidelines, meaning that our guests won’t be exempt from wearing masks and following other hygiene and social distancing rules on site. As local travel guidance can change at short notice, please make sure that your reasons for staying are in line with the latest guidelines at the time you’re due to arrive.
