"Carola"
I have stayed at this hotel many times, but today’s experience was 2nd to none. After a long journey from the Midlands stuck in traffic and stopping at every red light going, we were greeted by such a pleasant staff member called Carola. She was very welcoming and even though the room wasn’t set correctly for our stay, she apologised profusely and offered us complimentary drinks even though the bar was closed. You cannot beat customer service like this especially at this time of day as we travelled very late in the evening. I wish more hotels that I stay in have staff like Carola. Her customer service skills were on point, well done Premier Inn and finding such a very hospitable staff member
"Cardiff stay"
Great location. Good price. Comfy room. Close to restaurants. Ideal for a family overnight stay and shopping trip. Plan to book another visit.
"Long wait to check in"
Being greedy with £15 for early check in. Caused chaos at 3pm. Self serve desks were not working, people were queuing down the road to check in and took hours. No one serving on the bar because checking in was badly managed. Finally checked into room and it hadn’t been cleaned. We were promptly moved, but can’t help but think if they weren’t so greedy with the £15 early check in fee, these situation could be avoided.
""
Easy to find in the middle of the city centre with no more than 10 minutes walk from everything. Rooms were of a good size, bathroom was large enough with a nice shower that had a detachable hose and one above which was too low for anyone over 5ft 10. Air con was acceptable on a normal night but wouldn't be low enough for hot nights, telly showed was set on BBC West instead of Wales. Breakfast was ample but cold and did not have poached eggs.
"Poor experience"
Turning up at the hotel was faced with a huge queue for check-in, as two of the self checked in terminals with out of service and the other one was crashing constantly. Waiting in the queue the front sign for the premier inn was covered in cob webs and dirt, and in the entrance to the hotel numerous empty drugs bags. Not the best welcome No staff communicated any of the issues and when asked what was happening was faced with rudeness and contempt. On eventually successful checking in 45 minutes later, queued for the lifts to the 17th floor and on exiting the lifts were faced with sweltering heat. We approached our room 1711 looking forward to relax, however on trying the key for the room it did not work. So again had to wait in the sheltering heat on the landing of the 17th floor and wait for a substantial time for the lifts. Approached reception which was chaos and approached a staff member about the issue, the keys were taken from me and I was told to wait. 15 minutes ….. And the keys were just left on the desk, I again asked if the keys could be sorted and was faced with poor customer services and that the staff did not seem bothered and some staff found the situation funny and just walked around doing nothing. I was eventually given the keys and had to again queue for the lifts, and eventually met my wife that had been waiting outside the room for the duration of this. We entered the room and on trying to use the bathroom to wash hands, we’re faced with no hand wash or no showe gel in the shower just empty bottles. Worst stay ever
