Cardiff Bay hotel

This hotel is a great base for exploring Cardiff Bay and is only a short walk from all of the main attractions and restaurants. The Cardiff Bay area is very relaxed and feels very safe. You can also catch a 6 bus or Sky bus into Cardiff city centre from outside the Millennium Centre (nb. the return bus goes from the bus interchange, don't try to catch one from the stops listed online as they seem to be a bit hit and miss!) It doesn't have its own parking but the Q Park is just next door to the hotel and a reasonable price at a discounted £12 per day. We didn't have any problems finding a space. We had two family rooms and they were clean and quiet. For an adult and two children the family toom has a double bed, single bed and pull out bed. The breakfast was really good value and there were lots of options, continental and cooked. We didn't have any problems finding a table.each day as a family of five. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and it was no problem to adjust the dates of our stay when our car broke down the morning we were originally due to start our holiday. Excellent location for Cardiff Bay. Very easy to get in to town on the bus, 10 - 15 mins. Hotel is a little tired but absolutely fine for the two nights we were there. You can get a discount with the car park next door - £12.50 per 24 hours with a ticket validated at reception. Good value for money. Friendly reception staff. Recommended when in the area.

Great position on the bay with easy access to the attractions. Particularly impressed with reception staff who were very supportive and helpful, a slight problem with the room was dealt with immediately. Great sleep quality too. We would certainly return.

Bit of a rubbish experience here. The location is fab for the bay, but the place is very scruffy (including the rooms) and the service was poor. There were two of us and only one towel (no spare in/on the wardrobe as usual) so we had to share one after showering on day one. Asked at reception if we could have two towels ready for the next morning and they removed the used one and replaced it with... one towel again. Our room had a (locked) door adjoining the next room which they haven't bothered sound-proofing in any way so the two women in the next room rolling in drunk in the early hours sounded like they were in the room with us - could literally hear their whole conversation. They also messed up our friends' booking by insisting they owed for the room when they'd pre-paid. I don't have particularly high expectations with Premier Inns but this somehow fell short of even that low bar.
