Evesham hotel

The room was a bit tired but adequate and the room rate was reasonable. The beefeater grill next door did a good breakfast. The lady who was running the dining room this morning 1st July deserved a medal. She was booking in, clearing and relaying tables, mending* the coffee machine all on her own. A real star.

My recent stay was just perfect. I was greeted with a friendly smile by the receptionist Louise, who throughout my stay was more than accommodating to my needs. Bed was ever so comfy and I was given a lovely quiet room at the back. Restaurant gave a little to desire, but I didn’t allow this to dampen my mood as Louise and the team were just fantastic. I shall definitely be returning.

I arrived on Sunday 22 June, I did manage to check in early, but there was no air conditioning, and I was advised that the big grill in the room was for 'heating only'. Though the instructions did say about 'cooling', though it wouldn't cool the room down. At 6.30pm the room temperature was 27.4C. A fan was provided, but initially all that did was put more heat into the room. The second night of the 23 June, the room had cooled to 25.4C, but still way to hot for sleeping. Being on the ground floor, room 46, the one window that did open, didn't open very much, so was no help in trying to cool the room. The formica on the dressing table was starting to peel off. Also the step out of the bath to the floor was over 2 feet, luckily I'm tall so I could manage it, but shorter people would struggle, especially as there were no rails to hold onto. This hotel needs a major refurbishment, and air conditioning fitting. Such a shame as it's in an excellent location, for me visiting family close by. But I will have to think again about going in hot weather.

Room was clean but there was no air conditioning. Had two very uncomfortable nights with little sleep. They had provided fans but, they were hopeless and just blew hot air around. Ironically, there was an air conditioning unit in the downstairs lobby and corridor. I wouldn’t stay there again unless they install air conditioning.

When we arrived(on 21 June) we were told the aircon was not working but there was a fan in the room. It was the hottest day of the year!!! Needless to say no sleep. I rang their guest relations to complain and they informed me that there was no aircon in the hotel and that I should have seen that on the website when I booked! I have looked at the website again and it does not stipulate whether there is aircon or not. Their terms and conditions do not cover the “good nights sleep guarantee” for rooms with no aircon! Lesson to learn(as I was told) ring the hotel directly to book and ask the question, I think I will stay in Travelodge rather than Premier Inn again,
