"Not recommended"
Only things ok were bedding and towels, no staff, no advertised amenities available, shabby, not a welcome hotel to stay at
"Terrible night’s sleep on a warm night with no air conditioning fitted in this hotel."
This hotel is probably the worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. Maybe I am unlucky tonight but the room temperature is 28 degrees and I am told there is no airconditioning in this hotel. There a fan but at this temperature that just blows hot air around. The hotel is also in a scruffy run down area of Wellingborough. Not a pleasant location. The lady on reception was polite enough when I complained. What can she do other than say ‘yes I know, it’s hot in reception too’. Great! Premier Inn used to have a ‘good nights sleep’ policy. I will be complaining. I think most Premier Inns are reasonable value for money. This one in Wellingborough is not; on this night at least.
"Avoid this hotel in the summer if you have a baby!"
I called the hotel the day of the stay to advise we would be arriving late in the evening, around 11pm and to ensure they had our travel cot set up for our baby. I had to ring the hotel 6 times over the space of 2 hours without anyone answering! I saw reviews saying there is no aircon in the rooms so was expecting it to be warm but wow! We arrived and the room thermostat said 28 degrees Celsius. I asked reception for another fan and she said they only have enough for one per room and there are no others. Also, we booked a family room. Family rooms are upstairs and there is no lift!! So don't bring your pram in unless you willing to carry that your baby and bags upstairs! We booked for 2 nights and on the second night we came back from the wedding to the hotel to see the thermostat in the room reading 31 degrees. Completely unsafe for our baby. We made the decision then and there to leave and just take the 3 hour drive home through the night! I wouldn't recommend especially in the summer
"THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING AT WELLINGBOROUGH"
Stayed 3 nights in May with my family. We all had breakfast on the last day on-site Premier Inn restaurant. 2-weeks later I get a parking fine for £57 for overstaying my welcome in the car park by 26mins and 15 seconds. Don't hang around in the on-site Premier Inn restaurant. If you do stay don't outstay your welcome!
"The worst Premier Inn I have stayed at"
I have stayed in almost 100 premier inns over several years. This is the worst one. We were here for 2 nights , checked in on 2 separate bookings as we had a funeral to attend. During our funeral ceremony we received 2 missed calls and voicemails . We called back to be sternly told that we should have checked out at 11. When we explained we were booked for 2 nights they checked again and admitted their mistake. Upon our return from the funeral later we found the room had not been cleaned, bed not made, no towels etc. We noticed an old mayonnaise pot from previous guest under our bed . I politely explained to the hotel manager why we were not happy. Instead of offering an apology she told me I should have complained the previous day somehow making this our fault. She interrupted me a couple of times and I drew the conversation to a close as I had come to the desk to raise awareness and not to find myself in an argument. The hotel itself is of a standard consistent with other premier inns and so I draw the conclusion that the problem rests with the way I which it is managed. For £200 for two nights this was extremely poor value .
