"Find a different hotel"
The premier inn at York North was a huge disappointment. The room was cramped and gloomy. The bedside light didn't work (reported but not fixed) the window was covered in green algae on the outside and there was lots of rubbish on the flat roof directly outside the window. The toilet floor was sticky and smelled of stale urine and the shower cubicle was mouldy. The complimentary shower gel was empty so I had to ask reception for a new bottle. It was the worst premier inn I've stayed in. Even the reception staff looked bored and unimpressed. £370 for 3 nights thanks to their dynamic pricing. I've stayed in lots of Premier inn hotels and this has to be the worst.
"Awful experience"
Hotel is poorly positioned with limited public transport and far from any points of interest. My room had extensive mould in the bathroom including established mould on the bathroom door. When I told the receptionist he told me all of the rooms have mould. When I insisted the room was changed I was upgraded to a Premier plus room, which again had mould in the bathroom (albeit less) and had filthy floors. I didn't bother trying for another change to get a mould free room. The staff tried hard when I spoke to them and were attentive during breakfast and when queries were raised. But cleaning and maintainance standards were poor and the hotel is very inaccessible without a car. It is no surprise about the mould as there is no ventilation in the bathrooms and I can't see how the price is justified for dirty, mouldly and damp rooms. I would never stay here again.
"See you soon"
Warm welcome upon arrival by the lovely receptionist. We booked a premier plus room which was really good. The air conditioning was a god send as it was a warm night & the fridge was fantastic for keeping our drinks cold. Breakfast on both mornings was amazing with plenty of choice. We enjoyed our stay that much that we will be booking again for a longer stay later in the year.
"Good Location, Excellent Breakfast"
I filled in a supposed 'TripAdvisor' review on the Premier Inn website as part of customer feedback - it hasn't shown up, so I'm writing direct. Staff - polite. Check-in/Out - efficient. Breakfast - excellent. Location - easy to get to York centre by hop-on/off bus, but could walk it. Heating - controls were a maze and hard to understand. Bathroom - extractor fan didn't work. But lots of toilet paper. Walls - paper thin, so you could hear the gormless talk of other residents.
"Nice greeting on arrival, room clean and breakfast cooked to order so really fresh. Close to town and on bus route. Coffee/tea av"
Lovely place to stay. Outside seating nearby and on bus route into town. Breakfast cooked to order so lovely and fresh. Staff friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay. Room clean and tidy but double bed smaller than expected. Pub on grounds but shuts at 10 on weekdays sadly
