"The Nelson Norwich"
In general the Nelson is a pleasant place to stay with friendly staff. Its convenient to the city centre and very near the train station. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful and who all worked hard. Particularly credit to Amy, Sam, Kay, Ellar Mar and Grover in the restaurant for being so welcoming.
"Very dated"
Not up to the normal standards. Very dated and in need of a major overhaul. Good location for the city center but didn't feel particularly safe. I wouldn't recommended this hotel.
"The worst Premier Inn ever - shockingly bad."
The worst Premier Inn we've ever experienced - and we've stayed in plenty all over the country over a long period of time. The whole atmosphere of the place was seedy and run down. Our room was dirty, the milk was off, there was rubbish under the bed, the light over the bed didn't work. The bathroom was horrible - the floor of the bath was grubby, the loo was FILTHY - brown all the way round the bowl - it obviously hadn't seen a brush or cleaner for days/weeks. The bath towels had marks on them - we assumed they were being reused rather than clean ones provided. The room was dusty and shabby and the view.....it looked out on to a yard which was surrounded by drab, empty derelict offices The yard was full of weeds and rubbish. The only saving grace was that our window was so filthy, it obscured some of the view. We were told at reception when we complained that the hotel is due to be knocked down. The sooner the better but in the interim when unsuspecting guests book in to stay, they should certainly NOT be charged the extortionate rate we were - £257 for 2 nights. ......not to mention £20 to park. A total disgrace - The Premier Inn chain should be ashamed.
"Short Break"
We are just back from a lovely 3 night stay here. Originally we had booked for 2, but having checked availability online, the receptionist extended our booking while checking in on Thursday. Our Premier Plus room, 225 was lovely, situated at the back of the hotel so it was nice and quiet. The room itself was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. No problems parking, all staff very friendly. We have stayed here a number of times before, and the riverside location is perfect , opposite the railway station and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the city centre. Hope to return soon.
"Pleasant location"
We absolutely love this Premier Inn because it's a perfect location with beautiful views along the river on the riverside walks. Unfortunately bar staff are virtually non existent and you will wait a while. We like to eat there for our evening meal, but this last year, favourite meals are always unavailable so we go elsewhere. The breakfast is quite basic for the money that's charged. The whole place needs an overhaul on the outside and we didn't take kindly to being woken up to an electric drill, being used by maintenance, outside our Premier PLUS room. The price of the car park has been hiked up to £10 when it should be half that for customers, in our opinion.
