Directions:

From A47(JA146) at the lights turn left towards Norwich City Centre. After the next lights turn right, stay in lane for ring road and take the second exit on the roundabout. Turn right at the next set of traffic lights. Continue on A147 until the railway station is on your right. At the traffic lights take the left turn over the bridge (Prince of Wales Road). Take the first exit on left onto Mountergate. The hotel car park is on the first exit on the left.

"Basic and over priced"
Basic and very dated room No sockets next to the bed No draws in the room Holes in the ceiling Skirting chipped and need repainting Furniture old and outdated Double bed was a single with a pull out underneath Shower was over the bath, not great water pressure Wouldn’t waste your money on a breakfast, that was also disappointing. Hotel stay was massively over priced.
"Ask for Benji"
We checked in late after Hamilton at Norwich Theatre Royal. Benji, who helped us was very kind, helpful, friendly, but also very professional. We will return because of his excellent attitude snd service.
"Not a great experience"
staff were very pleasant, room was clean and bed was comfy. Complete lack of USB charging ports in the place (other than the TV, which i'd have had to have had on all night) and the bathroom fan was really noisy. The lift was broken so i had to cart my luggage up the stairs and at 4am i was woken by a drunk aggressive man banging on people's doors and being quite threatening. I appreciate there's not much the hotel can do to prevent that and they addressed the situation when i called reception. They comped my parking as an apology but all in all, I won't be staying there again.
"The Nelson Norwich"
In general the Nelson is a pleasant place to stay with friendly staff. Its convenient to the city centre and very near the train station. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful and who all worked hard. Particularly credit to Amy, Sam, Kay, Ellar Mar and Grover in the restaurant for being so welcoming.
"Very dated"
Not up to the normal standards. Very dated and in need of a major overhaul. Good location for the city center but didn't feel particularly safe. I wouldn't recommended this hotel.
