"Disappointing Stay – Tired, Dirty, and Unbearably Hot"
I stayed at the Premier Inn Childer Thornton overnight while travelling for a business meeting. I usually choose Premier Inn for its reliable standards - you know what to expect. Unfortunately, this hotel fell well below those expectations. The building and rooms felt very tired and poorly maintained. There was no air conditioning or fans provided, and the entire place was unbearably hot. I couldn’t sleep at all due to the stifling temperature. The bathroom had visible mould on the walls and behind the bath taps; which made the space feel unclean and neglected. The restaurant experience was also frustrating. It was just as hot as the rooms, making dining very uncomfortable. Although the staff were absolutely lovely and doing their best, the service was incredibly slow. I waited an hour just to receive a prawn cocktail starter and a tomato linguine main—not acceptable, especially when all I wanted was a quick meal before a restless night. Overall, a very disappointing stay. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this location until some serious investment is made in cleanliness, maintenance and comfort.
    "Great stay, great staff"
We stayed here as we took our children to Chester zoo so it was perfect as it was 10 minutes away. We was met by Matt on the reception and he was so friendly and chatty which was nice after a long day. Quick check in and Matt booked us into the restaurant. He told us about the meal deal option for dinner which worked out alot cheaper for us and you still get full pick of the menu, 2 courses and a drink and then we upgraded to a 3rd course for only £2 each. We had mentioned that it was my little boys birthday when we had checked In and then later when we went for dinner Matt appeared again with balloons for both my children , a birthday card and a present ! As you can imagine my little boy was so over the moon and he hasn't put down his little transformer toy that Matt gave him! The restaurant is closed to the public which meant it wasn't busy. The staff was so nice! We was served our food my Matt, Liv and Crystal and nothing was too much trouble ! The food itself was lovely. I had the katsu curry burger and my husband had the Korean crunch burger which both came with skin on fries and was so tasty ! Slept soundly, rooms a basic but nice and clean and has everything you could need. Breakfast is a buffet style and again was lovely and filled our tummies for the day. We would stay again for sure Premier is lucky to have Matt for sure, he seemed to run things with such ease and was really lovely too
    "A one woman wonder"
A group of 11 of us (cyclists) were booked in for one night. I have got to praise Ann on reception. She dealt with us calmly and efficiently without getting flustered even when the computer decided to freeze. A couple of the rooms hadn't been made up as they should so she went and did that too. Later we were all eating in the restaurant and who pops up to help serve the food but Ann. What a woman. The other staff were also lovely and very accommodating. Our room was spot on by the way!
    "Grim"
We were given a warm welcome be Matt on arrival and also the young lady serving in the restaurant. However, the hotel itself was about to be refurbished and was clearly overdue. The food left a lot to be desired. We had booked and paid for two nights, but left after the first night. I have to stress that the staff, particularly Matt, did their best given the state of the hotel
"so poor it became funny... not a premier inn quality hotel"
Fawlty Towers on the Wirral!!! The hotel was due to be part closed due to building work. Building work did not go ahead ,but they stayed open with little or no staff.
