"friendly house keeper"
I recently had an amazing stay at this hotel. there was a cleaner by the name Vanessa that made me and my partner feel truly welcome. I asked for extra towels and she didn't hesitate to get them for us. she went above and beyond to provide us with a great service. what a lovely lady.
"Stop off on way to Cornwall"
The hotel is easy to get to off A3033 and is a typical Pren Inn, rooms nice and clean with Air Conditioning. We felt sorry for the staff long wait at reception to check in, letter found out why. On a busy Friday evening there were 2 members of staff in addition to the kitchen chefs. The same person checked us in, served us behind the bar took our meal order and made our desert. They were so helpful however clearly under resourced. So polite even under pressure.
"Unacceptable level of service from resturant & reception staff @ Andover Premier Inn"
This was a weekend stay on 11th-12th July for a get together with my brother, each of us travelling separately & each taking an individual room at the Andover Premier Inn. When I arrived late afternoon on the 11th, I was asked by the receptionist if I intended to make a reservation for dinner. I replied no, as my brother was still enroute and asked for details for the opening restaurant hours. The receptionist advised 6pm to 9pm without any further qualification. Later that evening we entered the restaurant/bar at about 8:20pm attempted to order dinner, only to be advised by the bartender that the kitchen had closed. Having provided this advice the bartender immediately walked off and disappeared. Somewhat taken aback we then spotted the receptionist and called her over to ask for an explanation as to why the restaurant was closed early. Her initial response was that the kitchen closed at 8:30pm (not communicated by her when I enquired at check in). After pointing out this fact, I then showed her the time on my phone as 8:27pm and again requested that we place an order as it was not yet 8:30pm. The receptionist’s further response to my request was that we had not made a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked!! Looking around there were perhaps 20% of the tables occupied!! This exchange was witnessed by other guests in the restaurant/bar and two of these guests took the trouble to express to us their dissatisfaction with the attitude of the Premier Inn staff. Both parties indicated that they also would be raising their own complaints. Clearly the Andover staff had decided to close the restaurant early and didn’t give a hoot about the inconvenience caused to guests. (I’m disabled and use a mobility scooter to get around so this impacted me personally more than most) Still requiring dinner, we had no alternative but to relocate to a local pub (The Lion at Clanville) where despite their kitchen being closed (It was now after 9:20pm) they offered us Fish & Chips. The difference in hospitality and customer service compared with the Premier Inn being evident, we didn’t use the Premier Inn restaurant for the remainder of our stay. Having stayed in many Premier Inn’s in the past, this negative experience was unusual. I also note from the main Premier Inn web site that usual restaurant hours are up to 10pm with no reference to an earlier kitchen closing time. Quite apart from a negative review we will also be raising a formal complaint with the Premier Inn head office
"Great clean rooms, very comfortable beds"
Stayed here many many times, love it ! Big thankyou to the staff here as they are great, big thank you to Ellen, Emily, Niamh (think thats how you spell it) & Liam for making my stay fabulous again.
"Rudest Receptionist i have ever experienced..."
I had the displeasure of arriving at this establishment at 9.30 in the evening, the receptionist was extremely unwelcoming and then i was told the bar closes at 10pm, not a massive issue but slightly disappointing. When i had grabbed a quick pint, i then went back to the bar for a bottle of water on the hottest day of the year, the receptionist and a bar lady appeared after a few minutes of waiting and told me i could have tap water only as they had shut the tills down! I said you are a hotel, put the bottle of water on the room or something! A conversation took place where i said i cant understand why a bottle couldnt be provided....She then asked me to leave and i couldnt understand why as i was not rude in anyway. When i walked away, she muttered to other people, see what i have to deal with! I asked for a bloody bottle of water and explained as a hotel not being able to get one at 10pm is ridiculous. She was then extremely rude after i asked for her name as i was definitely reporting her. The room didnt have an iron, it was very average and the fact it cost £197 without breakfast was disgusting. My company booked it and i would have cancelled if i had known and stayed somewhere else. I would highly recommend avoiding this place like the plague. Her name was Jessica and should never work in hospitality. We all have bad days but she was vile. I hope Premier Inn contact me as i explained the issue to the manager at Andover and he said he would address.
