"Mostly good, but a disappointing breakfast"
We spent one night here before flying out from Manchester to Aberdeen. I selected the hotel because it was close to the tram stop at St Peter's Square, where we could catch the tram to the airport. The room was the usual Premier Inn style, and had a sofa bed and a double bed. We ate in the hotel restaurant. Our original choice - the Sunday roast - wasn't available, so we opted for fish and chips and beef and ale pie with mash. Our meals were quite pleasant, and reasonably priced. There is a tram track along the front of the hotel, so you might want to ask for a room away from the trams if this is a problem. I had paid for what I thought was "unlimited cooked breakfast", where I can choose what and how much I want of different items. I wasn't really impressed that, instead of being able to select our own food, our order would be taken and plated up for us. We both were given quite alot of mushrooms, certainly more than we would have chosen if we'd had the option of a breakfast buffet. I knocked a point off my review for the breakfast not being what I had expected, because otherwise our stay was very good. It will be a Continental breakfast next time though.
"Blown away by the premium room, but the welcome left a lot to be desired"
Really good product from premier inn - as ever, you know what you are getting and they have outdone themselves here by installing their signature premier plus rooms. I love how they have made what is essentially a middle of the road hotel chain into something that feels really premium just with a lick of paint, some fixtures and fittings and nice touches like a nespresso machine and some green and blacks choc samples. Big one for me - they have air con in these rooms, and even though it’s not particularly warm at the moment - I really appreciate the option of having the fresh air coming in. This is a game changer in the summer for me. I’m not 100% happy though, the welcome was very uninspiring with a receptionist who barely acknowledged me - I got no information about the restaurant, had to tease out some information about breakfast etc as a result I have not been able to eat here tonight as I didn’t realise I had to book (very odd… this is a chain hotel, why are they operating this type of service?) I settled for a pizza from the papa johns a few doors away - what they don’t appreciate is that is a loss of my custom this evening, and that all adds up over the year for whitbread if that’s how they treat their customers. Maybe remind the front of house team that they are the face of the business and this could be a really nice option for overnights in Manchester.
"Horrible"
Did not get a warm welcome was even worse when I went threw the corridors the carpets was filthy rotten then got to the room was filthy dust everywhere hair in shower tray room dark and depressing door to bathroom in need of repair ....then some staff very unpleasant ask few questions and was shut down immediately but found out they lied
"Perfect stay at The Premier Inn"
What a lovely room! Booked one night as we were going to the theatre. Straightforward check in by the ladies on the front desk. Our room was on the second floor - absolutely perfect! We paid just £80 for a plus room and it was well equipped, clean and smart. Comfy bed, fabulous shower and a generous supply of tea and coffee. We have paid much more on many occasions for less. I was really impressed! We had a great night's sleep! The hotel was perfectly positioned got several theatres and great shopping.
"Perfect Premier Inn"
Premier Inn at it’s best. Perfect location. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast scrummy. Good price too.
