"Another example of greed over value"
Friendlier staff for a start, also staff that can see you carrying heavy bags, then they just let the door shut behind them on you. A room that has a net curtain so that the curtains can be opened but still maintianing privacy. A shower that actually has a decent flow, I've seen snails go faster than the shower. No car parking charge. The prices that I paid for staying there was steep enough, but then to have the cheek to charge parking on top of that, i'm sorry, but even dick turpin wore a mask. And as for next years prices as I had a look, lets just say, I will not be staying here again (almost £700 for 4 nights). Pure greed and less about the customer, are they trying to put people off booking so that they can house certain others instead? makes you wonder.....

Premier Inn: Much to fix. Angry, furious, disgusted and embarrassed. That’s how I feel after trying to eat at the Brewers Fayre restaurant attached to the Premier Inn at Gloucester Business Park. I ordered the Big Stack burger, choosing the salad option instead of the bun. What turned up (see pic) was burnt, hard, dried out two slivers of burger, covered in a yellowy gunk that may have been cheese. One bite and a mouthful of acrid, nasty shot – spat out – later and I was out of this excuse for a restaurant. The ‘salad’ was an assortment of chopped veg. I suspect whatever the ‘chef’, who may or may not have been a 16 year old work experience person with zero previous catering knowledge, had found in the kitchen. The dressing was a slime with zero taste. What the hell does this company think they are doing? The hospitality sector constantly complains about problems but the real problem is itself. No training, no enthusiasm, no passion for food and good service. Just profit. So what did I do? I simply put my knife and fork together and walked out. I was too tired after a long day to argue. There was no other eatery within walking distance so I went to the Tesco across the road and bought some nice Somerset Brie and a whole grain roll. And a good chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. All for less than the cost of the Premier Inn crap. What about the hotel itself? Well, the room was a decent size, modern, comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Great… or is it just what you should expect? The shower – part of the bath – was pretty useless with poor water pressure but at least I managed it. The TV however was useless. The remote had hardly any effect on the TV and after 20 mins of trying to find something – anything! – I gave up. Instead I paid £5 for the “Ultimate Wi-Fi’ which turned out to be anything but that. It was a max of 8 mbps! That was their own statement after signing up. Again, useless. I can’t even get my emails! Then, when I shifted from my mobile phone to laptop, in an attempt to find somewhere I could watch today’s cricket, the system failed completely. They sell the wifi on the basis that 3 devices can connect. That’s completely untrue. Only the device that originally bought the wifi pass can connect, at least at this hotel. Premier Inn: you are taking the piss! Sort out your tech, your bathrooms and most of all, your restaurants.
"Ok place but new parking charges are pure greed"
Have been using this hotel fairly regularly for over a year. All ok until last week when, for the first time I had to pay a £3 parking charge (described) as some sort of exclusive discount and I should be grateful. Pure greed and not made clear when booking. I'm sure Sir Lenny would have something to say.
"Friendly staff as usual and room not as pleasant as previous visits"
On checking in I was told I had to pay for parking ( stayed here lots of times) member of staff said I should have been informed prior on booking but I was not It was a suprise but nevertheless I paid . Staff member helpful and kind ( she was feeling very uncomfortable due to heat and had no air con on only a freestanding fan!it was very hot in reception too) Room was not very spacious as it was a family room I think as it had a trundle bed and I had booked for two double rooms.Clean and tidy but not its usual standard as shower curtain was damp and had hair on it Could do with a deep clean as air was stale
