After the disappointment of the Gables Hotel in Gretna ceasing trading we booked in at this hotel. We were greeted by the receptionist Julie who went out of her way to help us. She was very sympathetic, considerate and patient especially trying to log us onto the hotel's WIFI system. We had a very peaceful night with you. Thank you Mr & Mrs Hall
"An excellent stop off in Carlisle. Clean and comfortable bed, good food with easy parking and direct access to the M6"
My son and I spent a very comfortable night in a twin bed room after arriving late, having driven from the West of Scotland. We enjoyed an excellent steak at the adjoining restaurant and could ask for nothing more. Tracey made us feel welcome despite ariving late.
    "Present member of staff. "
Tracy was very helpful calling a taxi and even wrote address down for me incase I got mixed up with hotels. As I showed up to check in. She was both very helpful and pleasant. Rooms are also amazing and cost effective. Parking is right outside of hotel also.
"Was a half decent visit. Could have been better if someone wasn’t there"
Most of staff were friendly except for one… she had dark hair and wore glasses and was basically stuck to the reception chair. All of the other staff I had seen were running around like headless chickens trying to help clean rooms etc I think her name was Sophie I had to ring the bell a few times during my stay and she was always at the other end of hotel doing another job I kept apologising to her from distracting her from other jobs but she was very helpful. So was Natasha on a night time. The staff in the pub next door were extremely friendly and ran miles around the pub I think I could see smoke coming from their feet at one point it was that busy. But back to the receptionist everytime I passed and she was in she always looked like she didn’t want to be there and I could hear her saying she was tired and in pain….i don’t know how she could have been tired as she was always sat at that chair. The only time she was polite to me was when I checked out and her manager was in the back (short female with glasses) and she gave me a review card and put her name on….Tracey. Big shout out to Sophie, Natasha and Julie as they were all friendly and helped me with any questions I have.
