Barry Island (Cardiff Airport) Hotel

Ein sauberes, ruhiges Hotel ohne Schnick-Schnack, aber mit freundlichem Personal. Bei mir war im Preis sogar ein Gutschein über 25 Pfund zum Essen im danebenliegenden Restaurant eingeschlossen, sodaß ich fürs Essen nichts bezahlt habe. Frühstück ebenfalls einwandfrei. Die Aussicht ist momentan (6/2016) noch ein bisschen baustellig, aber das wird schon noch.

We have just had the most fabulous few days here, the hotel is spotlessly clean, with lovely friendly staff. It is centrally located about 15 minutes walk to the sea and the same into the small town. The adjoining Brewers Fayre was also really good, also friendly staff and good value food, however it is ear marked for closure so not sure how much longer it will be open. We had a premier inn plus room which had a fridge with bottled water, there were chocolates left for us and a nespresso machine with pods. It’s decorated nicely with a walk in shower and air con, it was really quiet and we both slept really well. Lots of free parking as well. Barry Island is very clean and an area definitely on the up with lots of building work going on. We have absolutely no complaints,and definitely would visit again. Well done Barry Island.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May for the Barry Island 10k. The welcome was friendly and professional and check-in was easy. Parking was plentiful - though we did arrive 2 days before the race – and the room itself was clean, functional and very quiet, despite being next to the carpark. Couple of small niggles, we couldn’t get the wifi to work until the last day, it found the network but wouldn’t load a sign-in screen, we tried across multiple devices. Also the cleaning can be a bit hit and miss, the first day we put a sign on the door to say “please clean” and it wasn’t, and the second day we put the sign there again and asked at reception and again, it wasn’t cleaned. The room was eventually cleaned but the mugs weren’t washed up/replaced, a small thing but easily fixed. The room could definitely do with having a couple of glasses in it as it only has 2 tea/coffee mugs. We did enjoy our stay and would stay there again, but a couple of small, very easy-to-sort niggles makes it a 4 rather than a 5 rating.

Nice hotel clean, but air conditioning is rotten need to get fixed unfortunately a family member fainted about 1:30am and everyone was roasting, couldn’t cool down in the slightest walked in straight away roasting during the night roasting every time it was easing

We chose this location because it was close to the Barry Island 10k race. I have stayed at the Premier inn all over the country and knew that it would be good value for money. We were given a warm welcome from Abbie in reception who turned out to be a fellow runner and gave us great advice for a park run on Saturday. I would also like to thank Nicole for all her flexibility and assistance in making sure we had a good start to our long journey home.
