Glasgow Newton Mearns (M77 J4) Hotel

Bisher war ich in mehreren Premier Inn Hotels und eigentlich immer zufrieden. Aber nicht hier: Die Zimmer sind total überteuert - statt den üblichen 70 £ pro Nacht wurden weit über 100 £ verlangt. Das Zimmer war auf den ersten Blick sauber, nur fanden sich deutliche Schimmelflecken an mehreren Stellen im Bad, weshalb das Zimmer auch insgesamt einen modrigen Geruch verströmte. Die Fenster können nicht geöffnet werden (!) und die Belüftung erfolgt nur über die Klimaanlage. Diese ist aber leider nicht sehr leise und gab obendrein ständig gluckernde Laute von sich. Eine Zimmerreinigung erfolgte ebenfalls nicht. Lediglich das Bett war gewohnt bequem. Das Frühstück war sehr dürftig, nur Konfitüre als Belag, keine Wurst und kein Käse… Aber vielleicht ist das in GB so üblich (?)

Great location close to the motorway and easy to get to Glasgow. Parking was easy and we were met by friendly staff at reception. Modern hotel , we stayed in an upgraded room which was great. Soundproof against the traffic noise and the air-conditioning worked well. Fridge and pod coffee machine available. Dinner in the restaurant was really nice, and the staff were friendly. Waitrose is across the road if you want any snacks etc. Would definitely use again.

The experience was as expected with a hotel of convenience, ideal for the one/two night stay. The bedroom and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. If having breakfast you are required to book a time slot for your entire stay. This was not explained to us therefore, as we were staying for two days we didn't have a time allocated for the second day. The restaurant is small. The continental breakfast was perfect however, cold plates, tepid food and over-cooked eggs did not encourage us to return for seconds. This was the same for both days.

Upon arrival we were greeted by lovely staff who checked us in with no issues and immediately. The host gave us instructions on how to get to our room as the building was recently renovated and extended. The staff also gave us details of the breakfast and times we could go down to eat. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We all had a good nights rest. I was impressed with the hand wash and shower gel/shampoo provided in the showers which felt luxurious. The breakfast was amazing, and the kids eat free concept was such a nice touch as it saved us money and the kids loved what was on offer, usually picky eaters they finished all their food and ate until they were full. The cooked food and continental breakfast was very taste and me and the wife agreed it was the best breakfast we’ve had in a hotel in the uk. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and would book again without a second thought.

Our check in experience was very good. Our room was comfortable and, as always, extremely clean. We ate in their restaurant ion our first evening which was ok but nothing special. Our first morning breakfast was a bit disappointing. The scrambled eggs I had were dry and tasteless and the bacon and sausage were cremated. The breakfast experience the following day was much better with a different chef. This time it was help yourself to cooked breakfast and the food was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately on our first night there was a fire alarm at approximately 11.30pm so we had to evacuate the hotel for a short while, while the fire brigade checked the hotel. We guessed someone had been smoking in their room which had triggered the alarm.
