Glasgow Newton Mearns (M77 J4) Hotel

Bisher war ich in mehreren Premier Inn Hotels und eigentlich immer zufrieden. Aber nicht hier: Die Zimmer sind total überteuert - statt den üblichen 70 £ pro Nacht wurden weit über 100 £ verlangt. Das Zimmer war auf den ersten Blick sauber, nur fanden sich deutliche Schimmelflecken an mehreren Stellen im Bad, weshalb das Zimmer auch insgesamt einen modrigen Geruch verströmte. Die Fenster können nicht geöffnet werden (!) und die Belüftung erfolgt nur über die Klimaanlage. Diese ist aber leider nicht sehr leise und gab obendrein ständig gluckernde Laute von sich. Eine Zimmerreinigung erfolgte ebenfalls nicht. Lediglich das Bett war gewohnt bequem. Das Frühstück war sehr dürftig, nur Konfitüre als Belag, keine Wurst und kein Käse… Aber vielleicht ist das in GB so üblich (?)

Great location, situated across from a Home Bargains, Starbucks, Domino’s and a Waitrose if you fancied some supplies, lovely warm reception by staff, we booked a Prem Plus room that faced onto the back of the hotel, room was clean and comfortable and quiet .. nice wee touch having a table and chairs and an Ironing board 👌🏼 ..oh and a fridge! (Perfect for chilling my pre-going out drinks! Breakfast 1st morning was made to order (cooked) - (poached eggs 👌🏼) and 2nd morning was buffet style ..perfect both mornings and again staff were friendly and attentive ..would deffo stay at this one again! Thanks!

Stayed here for the weekend and, unfortunately, it was a bit of a catalogue of minor disasters. The WiFi was so weak and slow that I’m fairly sure it was being powered by a hamster on a treadmill. Trying to use it was an exercise in patience. The restaurant was closed during our stay, which was a slight inconvenience when you’ve booked a hotel expecting to be able to eat there. Luckily, Newton Mearns does have other restaurants, so we survived. The real highlight, however, was the bathroom extractor fan. Once switched on, it apparently decided it was now a permanent member of the room. It ran ALL night. I’m not sure whether it was extracting air, noise or my remaining sanity, but it certainly wasn’t stopping. Then came breakfast. At one point there were no plates. The sausages were tiny, the bacon was… well, let’s just say it had seen better days, and there appeared to be one butter between the entire population of Newton Mearns. Two eggs were produced with the sort of urgency normally associated with a national emergency, while the chef looked increasingly like someone who had just discovered they were working a double shift. To be fair, the bed was comfortable and the staff were doing their best, but overall it was a surprisingly chaotic Premier Inn experience. 2/5 – would probably sleep there again, but I’d bring my own WiFi, earplugs, breakfast and possibly a plate.

While the room was clean and bed comfortable on arrival we were told the restaurant was closed that night fortunately there was a Hungry Horse Restaurant across the road which I will say food and prices excellent but would recommend you book a table as it gets very busy breakfast in the premier inn was average pick your own cooked food but the restaurant is very small for the size of the hotel queues for toast ,coffee or tea didn’t like it at all so that’s why I gave it 3 stars

Really great value hotel. The bed and room was very comfortable and made for a good nights sleep. I would say the breakfast was exceptional for the price, all the ingredients top quality and cooked to perfection. Would definately stay again
