Livingston (Bathgate) Hotel

Es hat den Anschein, das dass Hotel in einer alten Feuerwehrstation untergebracht wurde. Graue nicht gerade einladende Fassade. Hat den Charm eines DDR Plattenbaues. Abseits des Ortes.Zu Fuß etwa 30 Minuten zum Bahnhof. Ca.30 Meilen von Edinburg entfernt. Wir waren hier auf einer Schottland Rundreise. Zum Ort, Bahnhof und Lokale ca. 30 Minuten Fußweg. Türschloss war defekt es ließ sich nur unter Schwierigkeiten abschließen. An der Bar musste man lange warten bis endlich jemand kam um uns zu bedienen. Nach dem Abendesse am Tisch sitzenblieben ging gar nicht. Kurz nach dem Essen wurden wir gebeten den Tisch zu räumen. Ohne ersichtlichen Grund.Abendessen gut, Frühstück sehr mangelhaft

Übernachtete hier im Rahmen einer Geschäftsreise. Da Aufrund eines Festivals alle anderen Hotels ausgebucht waren, fiel meine Entscheidung auf dieses Hotel. Aufrund des fairen Preises erwartetet ich nicht allzuviel. Bei meiner Ankunft wurde ich durchaus positiv überrascht. Das Hotel ist sauber und ordentlich, das Personal freundlich und hilfbereit, das Frühstück absolut in Ordnung und das alles zu einem fairen Preis. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen: Das Hotel liegt mitten im Nirgendwo und hat selber kein Restaurant. Zum Abendessen muss man raus und außer dem direkt angrenzenden Toby Carvery ist eigentlich nichts Fußläufig erreichbar.

Soggiornato 2 notti, per visitare Edimburgo, fortunatamente avevamo un auto a noleggio, con la quale comunque è stata una vera impresa raggiungere il centro. L'hotel è molto confortevole pulito ed il personale simpatico e disponibile. Con gusto rapporto qualità, prezzo.

We've stopped over several times at this hotel and have always found it adequate. However l'm uncertain we will stop again. Two main gripes 1. Automated check-in machines. l hate these things. After a long drive in the dark and rain, it's nice to have a pleasant receptionist give you a warm welcome. What's ironic was the fact that the were two receptionists on standby to help people use the machines. Ditch the machines and use friendly staff to do the welcoming 2. We paid extra for the breakfast. We got down just as the restaurant was opening 7am Sunday morning. One would expect the food to be piping hot. It wasn't, it wasn't efen lukewarm, it was cold. The beans were straight from the can no heating, hash rows cold, so where all the other elements of the breakfast. The fried eggs were the only things warm. The girl in the kitchen was to busy writing up things. So l never asked for it to be heated but suffered eating it so l could write the review. As mentioned we have stopped off here at least 20 times over the years. This stopover was by far our worse experience. We are going to look around for alternative accommodation next time we come to the area were warm

As some previous customers have noted some rooms are very hot, despite the outside temperature being over 10 degrees lower. Even the corridor temperature is lower than the room. We advised staff the room was too hot during the evening and again in the morning. They could not move us the first night as there were no rooms available, but we were moved on the second night. The staff said they are aware of the issue with certain rooms and have informed management, but they have done nothing to fix this. We made a claim under Premier Inn’s good night sleep guarantee and were refused, despite us advising staff of the issue. The guarantee is a sham and their customer helpline clearly has a copy and paste refusal email for anyone that attempts to claim. Their customer service department say they take feedback seriously to avoid issues happening again, but they clearly don’t, judging by the other reviews here. Horrible overpriced hotel (we paid £170 just for the first night)
