St. Andrews Hotel

Nicht viele günstige Optionen in St. . Andrews abgesehen von Uni Unterkünften. Was man von einem Premier Inn eben erwartet. Wir mussten wegen eines Systemfehlers beim einchecken etwas warten, aber das Zimmer war ordentlich und die Betten komfortabel.

Dieses Hotel ist super sauber, gute gelegen und in St. Andrews eine günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit. Die Betten sind top . Klasse ist auch der Supermarkt nebenan wo man sich zwischendurch Snacks kaufen kann. Die große Badewanne schickte mir der Himmel. Dort konnte man sich nach "schottischen" Wetter wieder top aufwärmen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksangebot war ok, aber nicht das Beste in unserer Rundreise.

HTL prenotato online, ha molte aree di miglioramento. La camera ampia con bagno comodo non aveva possibilità di essere arieggiata quindi sempre un pochino maleodorante (come il corridoio d'accesso). Mancando il telecomando abbiamo chiesto alla reception, siamo riuscito ad ottenerne uno funzionante al terzo tentativo. Anche se abbiamo avuto una doppia abbiamo avuto un solo aciugamano per il viso. Avendo pagato la colazione FULL ci è stato detto che l'avevamo in forma ridotta, abbiamo dovuto esibire la fattura dettagliata per avere il servizio concordato. Food at dinner took a long time as one of the chefs was off sick, but the staff did the best they could. The Food we received was basic but tasty enough. Room was very disappointing. You can’t open the windows at this hotel and the minimum temperature you can set the room to is 19 degrees, which for me is far too hot. It was like staying in a sauna. The standard of cleanliness was very poor. Thick layers of dust in several areas of the room. The room had obviously not had a proper deep clean in a long time. I’ve stayed in lots of Premier Inns over the years and this was the dirtiest. We sat by the window in the restaurant and the blinds were filthy and the window sills had old ketchup splatters and food crumbs. The cutlery was not the cleanest either. The only good thing was the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.

The location in St Andrews is fine and quiet. The atmosphere is as per most Premier Inn locations, nothing fancy. My room was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable. It was let down by the water temperature at all taps, which fluctuated greatly between cold and very hot, not ideal when using the shower. The food was a big dissapointment. My evening meal was cooked from frozen, main course, my one mouthfull almost cold, the next hot. The desert was supposed to be Sticky toffee pudding. It was a very poor effort and bland to say the least. I stayed for two nights and didnt eat in the restaurant the second night. I did not think this was good value for money due to the water and food issues.
