Chippenham Hotel

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Die Dame am Empfang hat uns mit Tipps für Dinner versorgt und auch die Kühlaggregate in den Eisschrank getan. Kleinigkeiten, die aber nicht selbstverständlich sind und äußerst hilfreich waren.

Aufgrund eines berufliches Termins in Melksham habe ich in Chippenham im Premier Inn übernachtet. Das Zimmer an sich war soweit sauber und entsprechend der anderen Premier Inn's in England soweit ganz gut. Jedoch wurde mir das Zimmer 17 zugewiesen und es war unmöglich dort eine ruhige Nacht zu verbringen. Aufgrund der Lage des Zimmers waren bis spät in der Nacht als auch am frühen Morgen [ab 6 Uhr] laute Geräusche [vorbeigehen am Zimmer & Geräusche aus der ersten Etage] zu hören. Entsprechend kurz und unentspannt war die Nacht. Das Frühstück war typisch britisch und leider wie in allen Premier Inn eher durchschnittlich. Entspechend kann ich leider keine gute Bewertung abgeben. Der Service war soweit OK und in Anbetracht der schlechten Übernachtung ist die Preis-Leistung auch Mangelhaft.

Servizio pessimo, ci hanno dato camera disabili e il wc era sporco di cacca. Volevamo riposarci, ma per quanto era sporco abbiamo preferito uscire, siamo tornati giusto per dormire un paio d’ore e siamo scappati. Alla reception ovviamente non c’era nessuno per poter fare un reclamo…bene! Mai piu questa catena di hotel

We stayed only 1 night as we were travelling the next day. Room was comfortable and clean. Check in was easy. Staff were friendly enough. We had booked breakfast for the next day in the brewers fayre next door... That'll be in another review. Might stay again if we're down that way again.

We'd inadvertently booked a Premier Plus room but on arrival we were really pleased by our error, as it was definitely worth paying a bit extra for. The room itself was extremely spacious and had additional features such as a fridge (with two bottles of water in), a Nespresso coffee machine, and luxury toiletries. It also had a normal-size hairdryer although it's worth mentioning that was touch-sensitive; I'd never come across one like before and there's nothing to tell you it is, so initially I thought it was broken when it kept cutting out as I used it! The letters on the handle highlighting the touch-sensitive section are not at all obvious. We were also glad the Plus room had air-con, as we were staying during a heatwave! Although the window did open, too. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, and overall it was very clean. We also ate in the Brewers Fayre the night we arrived, in the pleasant seating area outside, and the food was good. Likewise breakfast was really good, with a decent selection and good quality. Staff were also ensuring nothing ran out, which was great. We slept well, although on the Saturday morning we were woken early by the glass bins outside the Brewers Fayre being emptied. All in all we were very impressed and had a great stay; the only reason it's not 5 stars is the price as £150 per night was a little bit expensive we thought, albeit that was for the Plus room as it turned out. That said, we would still definitely recommend the Plus rooms here, and the overall experience.
