Ehrlich gesagt waren wir überrascht: Für den doch sehr günstigen Preis war das Zimmer recht groß, alles sauber und gepflegt und die Betten gut. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls gut. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

For dinner on 10th September we went next door to the old Brewers Fayre and it was absolutely horrific - having only two staff members on for an evening shift is an appalling idea (despite the fact there was 5 on for breakfast with less work to do) Shakira was so lovely and apologetic a real asset to the restaurant and something that should not be taken for granted - felt as though she done ALL the work that night while the manager was barely doing anything apart from sitting people and running a drink every now and then. It took over 30 minutes for our order to be taken and after ordering only three starters and a salad (for 2 people) we certainly didn’t expect it to take another 45 minutes for our food to come out, and see an elderly couple who ordered two medium rare steaks, 15 minutes after us to get their food first. It took over an HOUR for the kitchen to let one of the members of staff know that the pepperoni pizza a table ordered an hour ago was out of stock, another 45 minutes for a simple fish and chips for another guest, took about 10/15 minutes for drinks to be bought to tables, waiting nearly an hour for food to come out no matter the table size, food not coming out in any real chronological order and no time to clear/reset tables due to lack of staff The manager (male) on at the time has no people/customer service skills in the slightest, unsure if he’s ever worked in the hospitality sector due to the slowness he was working and the way he was taking orders/ pouring drinks etc He was also very blunt when speaking to guests and no organisational skills that can coincide with working in the restaurant, was taking orders from table randomly rather than doing who sat down first meaning people who sat earlier waited longer than those coming in after them. Definitely worth looking into training this male manager on how to work in a restaurant or making Shakira a duty manager as she seems to know what she’s doing! Hopefully you’ll take all of this into consideration but the main issue that night was purely lack of staff - it was no way suitable to have only two people working an evening shift when a restaurant normally requires someone on the bar, host, food runner and a server at the very least.

Stayed here 2 years ago and it was fresh and welcoming, this time it felt grubby, with an u pleasant smell inside the room and the corridor. Staff don’t exist and you won’t see anyone, self service machine is annoying to check in. Car parking is absolutely ridiculous why is it so expensive??? Let’s get started on the restaurant….turned up for dinner waited at the door as it states on the desk, nearly 5 minutes passed and no one attended to us so we found our own seat, there’s a buffet sideboard when you walk in piled high with mess and clutter/ rubbish not the greatest first impression. Noticed a sign that the pub is closing soon and we’re soon informed that the menu is sparse….not much available off the already small menu. The curry was overpriced and grim worse than a supermarket micro meal. Breakfast was no better the next morning but we’d already paid with the room the day before, hoping for better it wasn’t. Big plastic tub of yoghurt plonked by the cereal, what happened to the individual pots? Coffee machine out of order and only instant available. Pastries were soggy and felt like they were days old. How has this hotel gone so badly downhill in such a short time? Won’t risk staying again. Premier inn usually does us fine but this has put me off. Is it the staff are they lazy? Because the state of the restaurant suggests so…or were they unmotivated due to the upcoming closure? Not sure but as paying customers we felt a little ripped off.

Rip-off car park £8.20 per night!! You have more chance of spotting bigfoot than spotting a members of the staff . Checking machines were rubbish. They need to employ staff rather than machines.

Excellent all round. Friendly efficient staff. Comfortable beds, spacious accessible room. Highly Recommended Shame the Brewers Fayre Restaurant is closing (September 2026 ?)
