Banbury (M40, J11) Hotel

Eigentlich o.k., aber leider hatte ich ein ekeliges Zimmer(334). StinkenderTeppich, ekelige Flecken auf der Sitzliege, eine Dusche die schon lange keine Reinigung erhalten hat und die Halterung aus der Wand fällt.....es war nicht wirklich angenehm.

Trotz der sehr nahen Lage an der Autobahn und vielen Zimmern im Hotel: Sehr ruhig. Der Schallschutz ist erstklassig! Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls wie in allen Premier Inn vorzüglich. Zusätzlicher Vorteil: auch Rührei usw. gibt es hier am Buffet. Das macht es noch schneller wenn man unter Zeitdruck stehen sollte. Auch der Check In und Check Out sind an den neuen Automaten sehr schnell erledigt. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen!

The location for this hotel is good, and although it's next to the motorway the rooms are quiet. Parking is good, as long as you get there before all the work vans which fill the car park rapidly around 5pm. One or 2 of the staff members are great, the rest give the distinct impression that they really don't want to be there, and it's almost a chore if you ask for help. Breakfast is shocking, dishes aren't replenished despite only being halfway through the hours during which breakfast is available. Tables aren't kept up to date with cleanliness so you have a job to find an empty clean table during breakfast. The evening menu has improved, though the food preparation service is ridiculously slow. It can take an hour and a half to just get a main course. Same situation with the staff members, one or 2 shine, the others are dire. This is an incredibly expensive place to stay for what it is, and it doesn't offer value for money in any way shape or form. An accessible room was booked. The room was clean, and the bathroom has a walk in shower. That said, accessibility seems to have been a ticked box rather than a practical solution. Yes there are things in the bathroom, such as a frame near the toilet and a wet room type shower but that's it. It serves a purpose for its locality, but that would be the only thing I'd recommend it for.

The room was generally OK. It the carpet was absolutely filthy with stains all over and possible heavy dust build up at the edges. Possibly a lack of regular decent in depth cleaning. I dread to think about what under the bed! The food is of a very basic standard with much appearing from the microwave. Nothing is really fresh apart from salads. The quality of the breakfast offerings had fallen, poor pastries, soleless sliced bread more like sawdust…

What a rip off. £200 per night for 2 rooms £400 in total plus breakfast. Price hike because of the Motorcycle event at Slivestone. Price the next night went back to normal rate of £65. Disgraceful spoiled our family holiday.
