Wellingborough Hotel

Could'nt fault the service. Hotel good. Pub shows it's age and could benefit from a revamp. Food good. Special praise for Valentina, front of house.

Without a doubt the worst Premier Inn on the UK Rooms look like they were last refurbished in 1972, no air con, sounded like the people in the room above would come through the ceiling at any moment The adjacent pub / ‘restaurant’ is immeasurably worse with the feel of a Russian goulag and service to match One young Eastern European managing the whole place who had a less than basic grasp of English and an even lesser grasp on how to take orders / operate the till and serve (eventually) the food. We gave up waiting on the second course after 2 hours and left. I cannot explain how grim & dismal the decor in the pub is and the WC’s, well, to say they’re ‘basic’ don’t begin to tell the story. We did not meet one satisfied customer. I’ve stayed at many, many different Premier locations and have always been generally satisfied. This place needs closing down immediately. If I owned Premier Inn I would certainly not want my brand associated with this DUMP

I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable service I received during my recent stay at your Wellingborough hotel. While the hotel accommodation itself was satisfactory, our experience at breakfast the following morning was extremely poor and ruined what had otherwise been a decent stay. When we entered the breakfast area, we were greeted by a member of staff who was immediately miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming — there was no warmth or basic politeness at all. After sitting down, I ordered scrambled egg on toast with mushrooms; my friend ordered a full English breakfast. We waited for 30 minutes with no sign of our food. When I asked where our order was, it became clear it hadn’t even been cooked or prepared. When the food eventually arrived, my order was wrong: I was served scrambled egg without any toast at all. I explained I had specifically ordered scrambled egg on toast and asked for the missing toast. The waitress’s response was shocking — she told me I would have to go and get it myself. Throughout this whole interaction, she remained rude, ignorant and unhelpful, with no apology for the long wait or the incorrect order. Her attitude was unprofessional, unpleasant and completely below the standard I expect from Premier Inn. This level of service is not acceptable. I am very disappointed and would like you to investigate this incident, and confirm what steps you will take to ensure other guests do not receive this kind of treatment. I checked into my hotel, and the staff were kind enough to change my room since my last experience wasn't so good. I went down for dinner, and Raz was, as always, a brilliant waiter. He made sure I was seated comfortably in a cool area, which I appreciated since the restaurant doesn't have AC. My meal came out on time. The fish and chips were good, but the chicken wings were still a fail it tasted like the chef dried them out in the sun before he fried them!

Over night for a wedding and although it looks a bit bleak the staff more than make up for it. Top notch friendly service, spotless rooms and fab breakfast.
