"Ideal für Ausflüge in die Yorkshire Dales"
Ideales Hotel für Ausflüge in die Yorkshire Dales. Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig außerhalb von Gargrave, sehr ruhig trotz vielbefahrener Straße. Frühstück nebenan im Anchor Inn, reichhaltig. Guter Service, sehr sauber.
"What a difference a few years makes!"
The difference between the level of service now compared to 2022 is beyond words. Shocking service compared to our last stay. Last time it was amazing and the staff were great now though it was just clear they didn’t want to be there and we have wasted our money. We should have read the reviews before coming as I think the staff are just fed up with poor management so can’t really blame them for the bad attitude. They didn’t have anything in the bar hardly and the menu was reduced due to no staff but didn’t let us know upon check in that it was a reduced menu or we would have made plans elsewhere. Nearly no bottled cider, no lemonade draft or bottles, no coke either! This should have been mentioned upon check in. Not to mention the bar doesn’t open till 6pm and it’s only for 4 hours as it closes for 10pm. Asked for a couple of items on the reduced menu and were told they didn’t even have them! This was 30 minutes after they opened so they clearly didn’t have any from the start so again why not say. Half these problems could have been fixed with a bit of planning and communication with guests. I think you would get less complaints this way as at least guests are aware of the lack of services they will receive. The room was overly a bit grubby. Would not recommend and would rather pay more to stay elsewhere. The only good thing was the free parking.
      "Gargrave in the grave"
The hotel is conveniently situated for Skipton and surrounding area but at first sight looks very run down, an impression that doesn't alter once inside. If you arrive mid-afternoon and fancy chilling out with a cool drink, forget it. The bar doesn't open until 6pm and is for hotel guests evening meals only. We had an evening meal on the first night and my gammon was burnt to a cinder. It shoukd never have left the kitchen like that but that is how it was served. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful but once inside you may have to chase round for a television remote, tea, coffee and sugar and any other things we used to take for granted while staying at Premier Inn. For this hotel I would rate my stay 3/10.
      "Gargrave fantastic premier inn."
During my last visit to the premier inn Gargrave I found the staff to be very friendly. We ate in the Restaurant while we stayed there and the food was very good. The meal deal you can get at this premier inn was good value for money. It was also very quiet and the premier inn was situated in a very nice village next to the canal. one person who really stood out was Jason the shift manager. Nothing was to much trouble for him and the staff worked really hard. Jason should be praised and rewarded for his exceptional work. Will definitely be returning there in the near future.
"The good, the bad and the ugly"
The Good. Staff are friendly and staying for 1 night with dinner and breakfast all for under £100 is good vaule. There is a large carpark. It's about where the good stops. The Bad. The restaurant area wasn't clean and looking very tired. Due to being short staffed for dinner meant a limited menu. The presentation for the meals just looked boring. I wasn't adviced about being staff shorted before my stay. which would have made me gone to somewhere in Gargrave itself. Breakfast wasn't great. Another Premier Inn, I stayed at in Wales where staff came to take your order for a cooked breakfast. Here is was a free for all and just didn't work well at all. Staff members being on there phone, while tables needed to be cleared didn't look good. The Ugly. Bathroom still had hairs behind the sink which hadn't been cleaned. The shower had seen better days, as for the shower pole. Not sure what the point of it was. Shower screen could have done with being replaced replaced as well. I think this Premier Inn can be really speical. Sadly, lack of cleaning, looking tired and short staff. It doesn't make a great impression of "Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales."
