"Pleasant Room"
Usual Premier inn pleasant room. In quiet location. Staff helpful. I booked last minute on a Saturday night and only availability was a premier plus room which wasn’t worth the extra money but very comfortable
"Wish I could give it minus stars for the review"
Wish I could get it minus stars. Toilet not clearly. Shoved in an accessible room (despite specifically saying I didn’t want an accessible room). Bed may as well have been a futon. Restaurant closed all week. Duty manager couldn’t care less and felt it acceptable that the room lock was broken and we couldn’t get in at all without a staff member opening the door on every occasion which given no staff around without lengthy delay. Worst premier inn ever. Refused to stay.
"Poor service"
Stayed for one night on 25th September, arrived at hotel to be informed that due to a refurbishment no food was available for the evening, or next day breakfast, despite them taking money for a meal deal when booked a few days in advance. Phone reception was also dreadful with no signal being recieved. Should of been informed about no food prior to confirming booking, they are still advertising food on the website
"Oh Dear, Oh Dear."
Oh Dear, Oh Dear, unfortunately not the usual standard we have come to expect from Premier Inn. I had booked 2 Premier inn Plus rooms quite a few months ago at what I felt was a reasonable cost. When we arrived at Harrogate South despite my having the confirmation on my phone, the very dour receptionist tried to tell me I had only booked 1 room. 15 minutes of him looking at and typing furiously into his computer he acknowledged that ‘ok’ I had booked 2 rooms but he’d have to check that one had been serviced. My Premier Plus Room, was without Mugs, Glasses or Teaspoons, the Duvet cover looked as though only half had been ironed, the Towels were extremely good for exfoliation, and unfortunately the Toilet bore traces of Faeces. Not acceptable at all. And finally in the dust around the refrigerator unit you really could write your name. I made my dissatisfaction known, but with only the receptionist in evidence as the staffing quota, I merely received two mugs! The other Premier Plus room I had booked, had definitely not been fully serviced and was decidedly grubby. The dust was even more impressive than my room. Rooms 220 and 224. It was only when we arrived were we informed that the restaurant was not open for evening meals as a new one was being opened the following week. Luckily there was an amazing Italian Bistro just a few hundred metres away. We had booked in for Breakfast the following morning and were met with what could only be described as a devastation zone. There was one waitress on duty, trying desperately to service tables, replenish the breakfast buffet and liaise with the kitchen. We felt so sorry for her we actually helped her. She was obviously conscientious, but also embarrassed about the situation. She and the receptionist were the only staff members in evidence during our one night stay. I know this is definitely not the norm for a Premier Inn, especially Premier Plus rooms, but there needs to be a serious overhaul of Staffing, Housekeeping and general Hospitality. This experience will not prevent me using Premier Inns, but I certainly would not return to Harrogate South unless I was aware that a complete change of management and housekeeping had taken place.
"Poor value for money"
Poor value for money - wet used towel left on the back of bathroom door from previous guests, raises questions if anything was cleaned between visitors. Heating was broken, standalone radiator did not get hot but did make clicking noises. Stay anywhere else.
