Stevenage North Hotel

The rooms were so incredibly hot and there was no way to cool them. There is no air-conditioning, its telling that they know this is a problem when they provide a very expensive looking fan but all it does is push the hot air around. The next time I am visiting family in Stevenage I will find alternative accommodation unless this is addressed. I have used the hotel previously and dont recall this being an issue. With the cost of heating these days i would have thought it would be the opposite.

On arrival home I discovered I'd left an expensive night gown in my room. I contacted the hotel but they didn't find it. I tried to complain to customer service, but it is near impossible to speak to anyone. I filled out a form online but no response back. Not at all happy. Beware, the chef cannot poach an egg.

Excellent accommodation and warm welcome on arrival from two members of staff. We enjoyed a relaxing meal in the Social, and afterwards thanked the chef, David, for the excellent pasta dish with a selection of side dishes, which we both enjoyed. Unfortunately, no room for what looked like delicious desserts. A comfortable night's sleep.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was exactly what we expected from Premier Inn. We were greeted by a friendly young man on reception who checked us in and allocated us a room on the top floor so we’d not be disturbed by people above. Unfortunately the shower curtain was broken and when we popped back to reception he allocated us another nearby room and gave us two small bottles of Prosecco by way of apology. The new room was clean and in good order. We ate in the “Social” as we had the meal deal, we've previously avoided these “Socials” but given PI’s decision to close their Beefeater and other restaurants we gave it a go as we didn’t want to go into town. The “Social” was nicely furnished, warm with a selection of tables of various sizes. The menu was enough given what little you pay from a meal deal. Service was good, the food was nice and the wine quite drinkable! We enjoyed the experience and wouldn’t be put off by the absence of any other restaurant facility. We stayed two nights, had two lovely full English breakfasts and two nice evening meals. The receptionist and the breakfast chef who cooked our poached eggs to order and brought them to our table deserve special mention for going over snd above.
