Southampton West Hotel

L'hôtel est joli de l'extérieur, le parking est pratique et gratuit. La première chambre que nous avons eu était infestée de fourmis; après réclamation et attente on en a eu une autre qui donnait sur un mur de briques avec une lumière mais c'est mieux que des insectes... Le second jour la carte de la chambre ne fonctionnait plus c'était très pénible après une journée fatigante. La chambre est petite pour une famille de 4 mais fonctionnelle, les lits des enfants sont trop près l'un de l'autre mais pour un court séjour ça passe. Les enfants ont aimé les bonbons et le petit déjeuner était absolument parfait +++ le personnel était agréable. L'hôtel est bien placé, pas loin de paulton's park, et le restaurant pub à côté génial je le recommande!

I was a bit worried about staying here after reading the reviews however we had a relaxing one night here considering how hot it was. We chose to stay here as we wanted somewhere local to the Paultons park after a really long drive to get there and this is situated perfectly around the corner. Reception staff were friendly and helpful especially when informing us on the best times on having breakfast in the morning. Our room was how we would have expected, we were provided with a fan that was on to try and keep the room cool in the heat i did not see dust on the fan as other reviews stated. Didnt experience any dirt or signs of the room not being clean. Bedding clean and comfortable and towels were clean also. The only downside to the room was the smell of the bathroom but I think the heat and the door being closed didnt help because once we left the door open the smell disappeared. Breakfast in the morning again was what we would of expect from our usual visits to premier inn hotels. The restaurant was very nice and we were greeted warmly by staff. Plenty of food that was regularly topped up and kept warm. Lots to choose from and very tasty.

This hotel wasn’t so unclean that I had to find somewhere else for the night (we were only staying for one) but it made me feel uncomfortable and I will be looking elsewhere next time if I want to return to the area. It is clear that the basics are done but there needs to be a deeper clean carried out every now and again. When I arrived the toilet and bathroom sink were clean but the bath had hair in the plug hole and mould on the tiles. My son’s bedsheet had blood stains on it. Thankfully I had a spare sheet and it was hot so I told him to sleep with just the clean sheet on top of him. The bedding smelled clean but the blood stains had either been missed or ignored. When I took the duvet cover of the duvet I could see that the duvet had a yellow tinge to it. I didn’t dare take the pillow cases off the pillows . The headboard of my bed had greasy marks on it. The walls had dirty marks on them. There is no air conditioning in the hotel so we were provided with a fan. However, the fan was thick in dust and blew dust everywhere when we turned it on. The place looked like it was uncared for. Lots of things needed replacing/fixing. However, this isn’t what bothered me - it was the cleanliness. The food in the pub next door was edible but it wasn’t great. The menus were grubby. The breakfast was nice with a good variety of options and the breakfast room was clean.

Disability team messed up the room my child needed and had and flora sorted it out for me finding an appropriate room. I tried 5 keys but they wouldn’t work. Had and Flora went above and beyond in a heatwave over 30 degree heat running backwards and forwards across the car park sorting out the key. Really friendly and the most helpful staff I’ve ever encountered at a premier inn. Thank you Jax and Flora for the help you gave. After a disastrous stay at another premier inn previously and constant mess ups by the disability assist team you have restored my faith in the premier inn brand.
