Southampton North Hotel

We were booked a room here by Green flag, after our car broke down and the second half of journey was delayed till the following day. The staff here were very friendly and helpful and we had a comfortable stay.

Extremely disappointing and unsettling stay. A group of external travellers arrived and stayed overnight in the car park, causing major disruption. There was loud shouting, drinking, and even fighting outside late into the night. Children were running around unsupervised, and at one point there was abusive shouting directed at my family, which was very distressing. There were also serious safety concerns. One camper van had an electrical cable stretched across the car park, creating a clear trip hazard, and cars were being driven recklessly around the area. We reported the situation at the time, but no effective action was taken. As a result, we didn’t feel safe staying and our sleep was completely disrupted. This experience fell far below expectations, very disappointing that no action was taken at the time and no compensation has been offered since. Would not recommend based on this experience.

A pleasant staff member on arrival. Our room was not very clean and we pointed out that the headboard was very dirty with clear marks from greasy heads on both sides of the bed. The bathroom floor had also not been cleaned with obvious signs of wee around the toilet area. I spoke to Phil on reception who was very good in apologising and sorting another room for us without hesitation. The rooms are in need of updating also. The reception area and stairways and corridors are shabby and in need of cleaning.

We recently stayed for two nights 20 and 21st March. Staff very helpful and professional. The hotel is in need of a refurbishment looking a bit shabby and worn in places such as bathrooms. The couple we were with found cleanliness issues with their room and were upgraded to a premium room without question.

Stayed here for a work trip and I wish didn't. Stayed in room 17 at the end of the main building on the ground floor and every night at around 9pm the most horrendous constant deep hum would start from what I could only assume was the room above as the hum would start at random times and last ALL night. I flagged this to the two guys at reception and there response was VERY nonchalant and told me to just claim back the money for the room rather than do anything about the fact I couldn't sleep through the noise, I gave up after this. The premier rooms are on the first floor and it seems premier inn would rather not upset the customers in the more expensive rooms at the detriment of the ground floor customers. This noise was clearly being caused by the person above but the staff here did nothing to help me and sleep was a real issue during my 3 night stay. Avoid room 17 if like me, you need to sleep after a hard day's work, shocking, truly shocking.
