Chessington Hotel

Das Hotel befindet sich am südlichen Rand des Londoner Vorortes Chessington und liegt direkt am Freizeitpark "Chessington World of Adventures" Das Hotel verfügt nur über eine sehr kleine Rezeption und das Personal war leider nicht sehr freundlich. Bereits auf dem Weg zum Hotelzimmer merkte man, dass dieses Hotel sehr renovierungsbedürftig ist und die besten Jahre bereits hinter sich hat. Das Zimmer hatte eine normale Größe. Die Möbel wirkten recht abgewohnt, der Teppichboden war recht fleckig, das Bettlaken mit Haaren versehen, das Kopfende sehr klebrig und die Fernbedienung des Fernsehers defekt. Das Badezimmer war recht klein, aber ordentlicher als das Zimmer. Jedoch gab es auch auf der Toilettenbrille und in der Dusche Haare. Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig, so dass man nachts den Zimmernachbarn auf der einen Seite sehr laut schnarchen hörte und früh morgens vom Wecker des Zimmernachbarns auf der anderen Seite geweckt wurde. Nach einer Beschwerde am nächsten Morgen erhielten wir am Nachmittag ein neues Zimmer. Das neue Zimmer gab es immerhin ohne Diskussion, jedoch interessierte den Vorgesetzten meine Beschwerde nicht wirklich. Das Gepäck wurde vom Personal in das neue Zimmer transportiert. Das neue Zimmer war zwar genau so abgewohnt wie das erste, aber immerhin war es sauber und etwas ruhiger. Das Frühstück gab es im hoteleigenen Restaurant, welches sich in einem benachbarten Gebäude befindet. An den Abenden fanden hier das ein oder andere Trinkgelade statt, wessen Spuren man am nächsten Morgen auf dem Weg zum Frühstück in Form von Müll, zerbrochenem Glas und sogar Erbrochenem noch sehen konnte. Das Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung und verfügte neben den üblichen Zerealien auch über Brötchen und Croissants sowie Marmelade und Nutella. Auch eine ordentliche Auswahl an Warm- und Kaltgetränken war vorhanden. Leider machten auch hier sowohl die Teller als auch Gläser und das Besteck einen schmierigen Eindruck, so dass wir alles vor Gebrauch noch einmal gereinigt haben. Für Personen mit einem geringen Anspruch bietet dieses Hotel ein akzeptables Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Positiv sei auch noch die Nähe zum benachbarten Freizeitpark erwähnt, dessen Eingang nur wenige hundert Meter vom Hotel entfernt liegt.

Hôtel place proche de mon RDV professionnel, d’où ce choix. Chambre propre et climatisée, qui a sûrement été restaurée il n’y a pas longtemps. Literie confortable, salle de bain correcte. Je reviendrai si je dois revenir pour le travail avec plaisir.

They did not have the room we asked for staff were unhelpful and guided us to ring customer relations on Monday! This was Friday! We had to go to another hotel and pay out again No manager to talk to no senior staff members! Poor all round!!

Awful experience. They have completed a refurb so there are new carpets etc but the functional elements have not been addressed. There was no heating, the toilet cistern ran and refilled consistently all night. The bathroom flooded from underneath the bath every time the shower or bath was used. Their freezer had packed in, so there was no food available. Spoke to reception who could not help and directed us to guest services. Guest services said they could not help until we had checked out. Would not recommend !

Just had a difficult stay as the hotel was having some work done. They did inform us of this but only mentioned that it may be noisy between certain times. We decided as we were going to the theme park that it would be acceptable. What they didn’t say was the entire ground floor was closed and they don’t have a lift. As we had previously called the hotel to ask for a ground floor room we were surprised when we called a few days before our trip to check to find it was not possible. We were unable to change to another hotel so asked if we could be near the stairs as to evacuate in an emergency was going to take time due to limited mobility. We also asked if our 2 rooms could be close to each other as we had 3 boys with learning difficulties and ADHD. They said they could do that but when we arrived we were no where near the top of the stairs and had 2 fire doors between us and the boys. It’s a shame that we were not given all the information earlier and more consideration had been taken with regard to our disabilities as it wasn’t just a nice to have but would have made our stay less stressful. We booked dinner in the restaurant as we had had a reasonably long drive only to find they had a very minimal menu with no children’s meals at all, as there freezer had broken. We realise these things can happen but looking at previous reviews it’s not the first time this has happened. We have previously stayed at other premier inns nearby and they have been great so next time we won’t be thinking of the closeness to the theme park but we will happily drive 10 minutes as this hotel is more expensive and for us has not been a great experience. We did speak to all 3 of the managers but there really was nothing they could do any better and the restaurant is apparently nothing to do with them.
