Tewkesbury Hotel

We had a very pleasant overnight stay with a friendly welcome from all staff. The room was well up to the usual high stand and both breakfast and dinner were quality.

I stay in premier inns around the country and so far this is my favourite. My room is so nice and has a window which is nice. The main reason why I like this place so much is due to the really friendly staff I’ve come across. I’d like to give a special mention to Sue who works so hard ensuring the breakfast runs smoothly while being so friendly! She’s an absolute credit to the business and it’s clear that other customers return in part to see Sue!

On arrival had to wait nearly 20 minutes to check in as only 1 member of staff walked to our room and noticed communal areas not particularly clean they were still uncleaned when we left it was the same with our room it was clean but had crumbs under the bed water marks in bathroom and some dust here and there in the morning went to have a shower and only had 1 towel so went to reception and given some on the Saturday morning we asked at reception for our room to be serviced with fresh towels and to be cleaned we did mention it wasn’t very well cleaned on returning later that night room hadn’t been serviced no apologies just given 2 fresh towels as ours were in the shower as requested the service at breakfast and dinner was very poor and slow definitely understaffed food to be honest was good value on the whole not what we expect from this brand especially as we had upgraded to their plus room

The hotel part was great. As you would expect of the hotel. The restaurant connected to the hotel which was recently refurbished looks lovely & nicely presented. BUT 1 member of staff front of house & (I assume) 1 member of staff in the kitchen. For a restaurant that had approximately 30+ tables. I saw 4 couples/families turned away because (overheard the excuse) of the kitchen capacity to produce. I ordered my food after a couple, waited 30 minutes for a pizza to turn up, ate it & left before the couple got their food. 1 pizza, a portion of chips & 2 pints came to £31. Not acceptable too, especially for the quality of service. Its not the staff's fault. This is a seriously bad business model & Premier Inn need to re-evaluate how to make money & stop skrimping on staff. You have lost out on a lot of money today

Typical Premier Inn with high standards of cleanliness, very good facilities, excellent breakfast, and particularly good staff. It is a stiff mile, and a bit walk into town, although there are regular bus services to the high life (?) of Tewkesbury even on Sunday evenings.... but It is of of course just yards from the motorway. Nice place to stay and relax,
