Tewkesbury Hotel

Next to a main rd, but don't really hear the traffic, friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable, not a bad price, stayed 1 night, rooms were warm, but was a hot day, fan wasn't very good.

Restaurant service exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, location great, room comfortable but could do with air conditioning. Mel, Stuart, Julia, Harry & Connor went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed, would definitely recommend staying here

It was a very hot day so asked for a room that wasn’t facing the road. We got one facing the road but ending up moving. Checked in a 5.00pm and asked for a table in the restaurant. The receptionist said the earliest would be 9.00pm, we declined as it was too late. However we walked into the restaurant at 7.00pm to see if they had anything. The restaurant was empty and we could choose anytime we wanted yet your receptionist was turning business away. Other minor annoyances was white bread with prawn cocktail, the menu says brown. The eco taps in the bathroom are really annoying. I get the energy saving but the waste of water trying to get hot water is ridiculous

Over the years have stayed at this hotel 15-20 times. Sadly our recent visit was not a good one. On arrival greeted by a receptionist who was `not helpful`...almost as if she would be happier elsewhere. Not keen to check for a table for evening meal...she implied might not be able to book ...but she managed to get us a table.!!! On arrival in the restaurant we found only 3 tables in use and that is how the area stayed during our meal. Both of the females serving had a poor attitude to customer care!! The following morning we tried to book table for evening meal to be told there were no available times that evening. For those who have not been here before the Brewers Fayre next door has been converted into more hotel rooms resulting in a much reduced, in size, restaurant but a big increase in staying guests. I suspect the problem was lack of staff to cover the restaurant with all tables in use. The one good point during our 2 night stay was we were allocated one of the new rooms in old Brewers Fayre complete with A/C. For next visit I have booked elsewhere.
