"Perfect location prior to an early flight from Stansted "
Stayed here as a family for one night prior to an early flight from Stansted. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. Good parking and the receptionist Lisa (I believe that was her name from memory!) Welcomed us with a friendly smile. She was very attentive and informative during our stay. Our room was very spacious and clean and provided everything we required throughout our stay. Would definitely return if ever in the area, and would recommend. Took us approximately 15/20mins to drive to the Stansted Long stay car park, from the hotel and was a very straight forward route.
"Very happy with our stay and will almost certainly revisit."
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Enjoyed breakfast in The Beefeater. Very reasonable price for two nights. There was no lift, which would have been useful.
      "Disappointment."
The place itself is very picturesque, the parking is adequate, the rooms are clean and tidy. The weekend price plus early check in fee, plus breakfasts which BTW are billed as "Buffet" were waitress served from a menu she read out. The room had no air con all we had to cool us was a pedestal fan that sounded like a Chinook helicopter. All in all not worth the extortionate fees for one night's stay. Needless to say I'm not using the brand again !
      "Avoid"
We were 'greeted' by the receptionist, who didn't ask us if we had a car and if we did to enter the reg, thankfully we happened to discover that ourselves. She was more fixated on what time we wanted breakfast, to which we were unsure, and advised that we would like to see what time we woke up and then decide, but was told that this wasn't an option and that we had to book. We don't get many stays without the children, so would have liked the option not to have to set an alarm, and not to be hungry if we had woken early and had to wait as we had booked breakfast later. The first room we were allocated smelt of smoke, so we carried our bags back to reception to ask for a new room, we were given a new room, which was occupied, I don't know who was more shocked or embarrassed, us or the chap lying on the bed in his underwear. We again returned with our bags to reception, and at no point was we offered an apology, we were then given a third room, this time unoccupied, but dated, tatty and questionable cleaning (like all 3 we went into). I understand that this is a 3 star hotel, but for £159 for one night, we were expecting a little more than a small, cramped, tatty, hot (no air con), dirty room. Breakfast was okay, but it took quite a while to come out, the worst bit was the off putting smell of sewage/damp when you walked into the bar area to get to the restaurant.
"Good location but needs deep cleaning and fresh air!"
Great welcome from the receptionist but the room smelt dreadful.. and that’s because the windows do not open. So no fresh air. Despite having air con the room stank of air freshener when I arrived and then the smell of stale feet all night.. Never booking a Premier Inn again without any opening windows… note to self.. check before booking 🙄 Otherwise a convenient and quiet area but I would suggest a room on the top floor as the noise from rooms above is considerable (I was in room 116 and the elephant above me decided the throw things loudly on the floor at 9pm)
