Paignton Seafront (Goodrington Sands) Hotel

Nach kurzer Wartezeit (typisch britisch: gut organisiert) bekamen wir am stark frequentierten Freitag abend einen Tisch. Das Essen war lecker, die Getränkeauswahl O.K. (natürlich nicht so umfangreich wie in einem klassischen Pub). Service sehr gut. Da direkt am Strand gelegen, könnte man auch längere Wartezeiten gut überbrücken (man wird über einen Funkempfänger benachrichtigt, wenn ein Tisch frei ist).

Ich war mit meinen zwei Kindern für eine Nacht im Hotel Premier Inn in Paignton und kann nur positives berichten. Ich habe schon im Winter ein Familienzimmer gebucht, und das Zimmer war wirklich gross. Genug Platz für all unser Gepäck, ein Schreibtisch und diverse Ablagen war vorhanden. Durchs Fenster konnte man den Kanal sehen, für die Kinder war es wie Ferien am Meer. Freundlicher Empfang an der Rezeption, ein Parkplatz direkt beim Hotel, was will am als Familienvater mehr. Das Frühstück war wie in allen Premier Inns üppig, kalte und warme Speisen, verschiedene Brote, Säfte und Jogurts, Eier in allen Variationen. Kurz gesagt, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wir fanden es schade, mussten wir wegen unserer Reisepläne nach einer Nacht abreisen. Ich kann dieses Hotel wirklich empfehlen, ich weiss jetzt auch, warum man die Gegend die englische Riviera nennt. Es ist wunderschön da. Wir müssen wiederkommen.

Great location and a sea view helped. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was claen and comfortable. Wall mounted HDMI port was broken.

The whole hotel was grubby. We paid extra for a sea view room which was in the older part of the hotel, which seriously needs updating. We were exhausted when we arrived so atempted to sleep at around 10pm and were woken up by slamming doors. The restaurant attached, piped music through speakers until after 10.30pm and then woke us up at 7.55 played very loudly. There was a fire alarm at 8.20 which woke me up again. On checking out we talked to the receptionist who just gave us the card for a review. The good night's sleep promise policy was not mentioned. We have stayed an quite a variety of hotels and this is by far our worst experience. I would not recommend at all, in fact I would advise to avoid. There were no apologies or attempts to mske right.

Reception staff - Really disappointed at stay here this time. We have stayed here countless times and we are always greeted by friendly staff, however I was really shocked and disappointed at the reception staff on the morning of Tuesday 7th April. I was waiting in the reception area with my 5 year old, waiting for my partner to come down and there were 3 reception staff acting very unprofessionally. They were shrieking, making daft noises and some of the comments they were making in front of us really shocked me. For instance: ‘Why is it so busy?’ ‘Because it’s half term and people are on their holidays “Well those people are idiots” I was shocked that this comment was made especially when we were stood there! We were there on our holiday, does that make us idiots? I am all for having a laugh and a joke in the workplace, but comments like that in front of guests was inappropriate and unprofessional. This has tainted our experiences here because this is-was- our favourite place to come due to its location and normally great service.
