"Money saving cuts have cut standards"
The staff are lovely and deserve a great deal of credit for working cheerfully and hard under difficult conditions. The complaint is not about them, but about Premier Inn policies of understaffing to save money. Only two staff members were on in the evening. Because of this, people were waiting too long to be served at the bar and with food because they were busy checking in large groups of people or cooking food and providing table service at the same time. Premier Inn advertises a good nights sleep (the bed wasn't very comfortable either). In conclusion, I used to choose them because you were a cut above Travelodge. Now they can't even do that. No wonder they have such a high staff turnover.

"Great Staff!"
Very friendly, helpful staff that really do give you a smile to start your day! Stay here regularly for work and it's always the same. Would absolutely recommend!

"Terrible service and no sleep!"
Terrible experience.
There was a light on above the bed that was flickering all night. No sleep had. Reported the incident and told there was nothing that could be done, given customer service number to report the issue. The customer service number was not open at the time to be able to report. Again told nothing could be done at reception.
When we called customer service number 2 days later when we completed our journey, we were told no refund due and no compensation offered.
I regularly stay at Premier Inn, this is the first time we have had an issue and the customer service offered is terrible.
We noted when we were checking in some other customers who were having difficulties and they were being told there was nothing that could be done to help, they to were given the customer service number to call. This number is only open during office hours and it was Saturday night. This is very poor customer service.
Hotel staff very unhelpful as were the customer service phone staff.
I do not recommend stay at this Premier Inn and will avoid Premier Inn in the future as you only really know how good a place is when you have an issue and Premier Inn clearly do no care about their customers.

"Good/Not Good"
Stayed here many times, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are all you would expect from Premier Inn, clean, comfy and well maintained for such a quick turnover hotel. Any problems (I had a light not working and a toilet that wouldn't flush, both unusual occurrences) are fixed promptly.
Buffet breakfast is good, with plenty of choice.
Excellent value for money and good location for all things Reading.
After stay not so good
Real issues with getting hold of the hotel after my stay. Contact number got no reply on 5 occasions over a 6 hour period. Tried customer services who took info (I'd left some cash in my room on checkout) sent a contact email and said they'd put me through to the hotel themselves on a special number they had - this too got no answer! I've emailed my issue but so far (2 days) had no response. Not acceptable.

Bed appalling cover sheet too small and torn. Had to remove and sleep on mattress
Carpet was filthy
Hole in the wall in the bathroom
