"THE RESTAURANT & BAR ARE CLOSED. THERE I REDUCED PARKING."
THE RESTAURANT & BAR ARE CLOSED. THERE I REDUCED PARKING. I booked a couple of rooms on the Wednesday night, on Saturday, the day before our stay, I received an email informing me that the restaurant is closed. I called the number in the email, no answer. I used the email, in the email no reply. I called the number again after 30 minutes of chaos. I was told the cancellation department is closed over the weekend, and I would have to call back during the week. This is very bad service. I bought a service which they cannot supply. This information should be on the hotel's website. The chap at the hotel did his best to help, it seems like the way the business operates is the issue.
"Very disappointed."
We have stayed in Premier Inns on several previous occasions and found them good value and easy for parking and meals. This time we were so disappointed. On arrival we saw that the restaurant attached to the hotel was closed for refurbishment. This closed part of the carpark and with no spaces left, we and several other cars had to bump up on curbs. On entering the hotel, we were advised the restaurant had been closed for at least three months (it looks like it will remain so for a while). We had received no notification of this and had been sent an email prior to arrival asking if i wanted to book an evening meal or breakfast! Instead we were offered pre packed croissants and machine coffee. Shame on you Premier Inn for not pre warning guests and shame on you for leaving your reception staff to have to keep breaking the new to people.
"Don't just a book by its cover"
I will be honest and say that when we parked up and saw the back of the building, we worried slightly that it may be a little run down BUT stepping inside, it was completely the opposite! Very welcoming and modern and the receptionist was so friendly and lovely! The room was clean and I had been told on booking that the twin room was a sofa so was pleasantly surprised to see a single bed! Also had air-conditioning and with the 30 degree temperatures, it was a needed feature! I would happily stay here again. They are currently working on aspects of the site so may be improved soon too!
"Great stay"
The hotel room was clean and cheery… staff were just so helpful. I was a disabled solo traveller and they looked after me wonderfully … can’t praise the staff enough… 10/10
"First class customer service"
I arrived Tuesday morning ahead of a day at Royal Ascot. I arrived at 10:20, knowing I wouldn't be able to check in, but to leave my car in the car park, quick change into my dress and then check in later! I arrived to Reception and was able to give my car registration for me to leave my car throughout the day. I asked to use the bathrooms to get changed and was kindly shown to a private room by one of the two friendly women on reception. After a swift change, they took my bag for me to save, issuing me with a ticket, so that I didn't have to return to my car with my bag. I headed outside to then wait for my pre-booked Uber. After ten minutes of my Uber being late, the app kept updating to say it was going to be late, continually going up by ten minutes more and more. After my 10:30 booking time showing arrival of 11:10, I headed to the main road to see if I could see a black cab to flag down, but none passed. Worrying I was going to be extremely late (I was due to arrive for 10:45), I headed back into reception to ask for a local taxi service number to see if they could get to me any quicker. Immediately, one of the women on reception said "don't worry, I will take you. I can see you're worrying and I don't want you to be late." I couldn't believe the kind offer, but she insisted and the next I knew I was in her car and we were heading off to the racecourse! The traffic was building but she was so kind, patient and determined to get me there! She dropped me off just a few minute's walk from the Royal Enclosure and I headed in, relieved to say the least. An unbelievable and unexpected act of kindness and extreme guest care. Caroline, you were truly fantastic and touches like this make the hotel stand apart from others. I returned later in the evening following a great day at the races to a cool temperature bedroom with comfy pillows and had a great night's sleep, a great ending to a fantastic day, all made better by Caroline's act of kindness!
