Hot-off-the-press updates from the world of Premier Inn
10/09/2015 | Ready, steady, push…the bed push is on!
We started with 20 teams from across the UK, and now we’re down to two – it’s north vs south in the final of The Premier Inn Bed Push.
It’s all as part of our sponsorship of this year’s Tour of Britain and a great way for team members to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Heats take place this week – in Blythe on Wednesday 9th September and in Nottingham on Friday 11th September – with winners from each race competing in the final Bed Push on Sunday 13th September. This will happen along London’s Regent Street, which is the last leg of the Tour of Britain and where the professional cyclists will cross the finish line shortly after our beds.
Our luxury Premier Inn beds have been customised for the races - for starters they have wheels. They’re also decorated with logos designed by children currently being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The final two beds are even taking passengers, each carrying one of this year’s top two contributors to the charity.
Every team taking part has been tasked with raising £2,000 - that’s £40,000 on top of any funds raised at the events.
Simon Ewins, chief operating officer for Premier Inn, said: "We're looking forward to watching teams from across the country compete against each other in such a fun way. Premier Inn team members have once again gone above and beyond in their fundraising efforts for this fantastic challenge."
