Stirling City Centre hotel

Overall OK. The hotel is having an upgrade at the moment, which means there is a short walk from the car park to the hotel (1-2 minutes), there is some decorative work going on inside the hotel and the restaurant is out of action. None of which affected the rooms or corridors. Overall the experience was good. The bedroom is a good size and well decorated, the bed is very comfy, there were extra pillows available in the room if needed (I did). There is a Nespresso style coffee machine with capsules, tea bags, a small fridge which came with a couple of bottles of complimentary water. The bathroom was clean with free shower/bath gel. The shower was over the bath, personally, I'm not a fan, but I suppose it gives the option of bath and shower, so may be good for others. The staff we dealt with were all polite and friendly. The bad bits; The free breakfast is terrible even the orange juice was disappointing. It was so bad we only had it on the first morning of our stay! There was a choice of some mini packet cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat both sealed in plastic bags and were beyond disappointing, fruit that looked a few days past it's best. I know the breakfast was free and an apology for having no kitchen, but I would rather they had given a discount against the bill or spent more on the breakfast and made it a positive customer experience. We had a few room specific niggles, not enough to really affect the stay and we reported them at checkout. They were, HDMI not working on TV, so could not plug laptop in to watch Netflix etc, neither was the TV smart. The coffee machine leaked as did the bath, one of the mirrors had led lights but they only worked on one side. The hair dryer looks impressive, but is underpowered and you have to keep a finger on a button to keep it switched on. Value wise I thought it was slightly overpriced. Would I stay again? Yes, however, it would not be my first choice or immediate go to hotel and if I did end up here it would not be the end of the world, I'd just avoid the breakfast!

We had a fairly good experience, staff were welcoming and the rooms were clean and tidy. However, the bin was too small so was the bathroom sink which left little room to manoeuvre between the tap and bowl. Also, the room felt poorly ventilated.

The site was under construction but the receptionist was very friendly and informative, the room comfortable and clean and the noise minimal.

Premier Inns are always reliable. The rooms are as advertised, clean and comfortable and especially the beds. We had a Premier Plus room this time. The Premier Inn in Stirling City centre is in the middle of building a new restaurant which means there is currently no restaurant and the car park is slightly affected. In the light of this, Premier Inn gives guests a complimentary breakfast of cereal, pastries, fruit and drinks. It gives you something to kick the day off. The welcome was good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Dining options close by are limited but there is a Nando's opposite. My main beef with Premier Inns in general, and we have stayed at a few, is the WiFi. I find it unacceptable that in this day and age a standard room has 'free' WiFi so slow you can hardly download anything including emails. You can upgrade to a barely acceptable 25mbps for an outrageous £6 per night. If you stay in a Premier Plus room, this is free. Come on Premier Inn, you trail blazed budget hotels to an acceptable standard in all regards - comfort, cleanliness, breakfast. Now it must be time to make decent WiFi part of the deal for all rooms.

Reception was friendly and free light breakfast was a nice touch with ongoing refurbishment.Room upkeep of maintenance and cleaning should be the area of focus.Broken toilet seats and tape on smoke detector needs to be monitored from health and safety.Was mentioned to reception on checkout.Bed mattress as always is tops.
