"Tired site"
On arriving onto the site you will clearly see the restaurant is crisp for development as is the site in general. The site is tired and dated with the only bonus of Free parking. It gets no better once checked in as your dated room will have a bland feel that doesn't reflect the alleged brand comforts Lenny Henry endorses. When you live in hotels for work regular its site like Horsham opposite the station you really don't want to live in long term as 2 nights was bad enough. Appreciate the website makes clear no aircon and the window can be opened a little it was still a stuffy room with 2 grubby fans to spread the dust throughout your room.
The restaurant isnt open to the public and like the exterior is lacking in atmosphere and staff, as it seems they are short staffed and multitasking throughout while the site continue to lower its reputation as Premier. All staff are very friendly and non of the issues to the site are their failing that's on the shoulders of the investors and upper-management potentially awaiting for offers on the site to redevelop no doubt.

"Nice room."
We've stayed here before and the rooms have been refurbished since then. Usual premier inn efficient check in with the rooms being extremely clean.
It does seem that Whitbread have lost the plot as this hotel used to have a Beefeater pub next door which had been looking a tad tired before they closed it. So wanted some refreshment but the new in house establishment did not open until 5 o'clock. Fortunately, the town centre is only a walk away so stayed there for the evening!

"Overall a good stay"
Very tired on the outside. Plenty of parking, it was not a problem. Check-in good and helpful on the desk. Corridor carpets tired and stained. Room was good and well painted, bed as usual from other Premier Inns. Bathroom good and clean. No Aircon, very hot in the room even though it was September. Had a standing fan which helped but Aircon would be much better. Breakfast quite good, though bacon tasteless. Evening meal, very helpful waiter with my lactose intolerance. Food quite good. The steak knife for the smothered chicken as superfluous as the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. Overall, a good stay, but wouldn't go again during the summer unless they upgrade to air conditioning.

"The Premier Inn that time forgot."
Comfy bed, free parking and reasonable breakfast. Those areas the good points.
This feels like the Premier Inn that time forgot. I expect that in its heyday this hotel was great, but now it is very tired, and the rooms are far too hot for comfort.
There were two fans in our room, but we only used one as the other one was revoltingly dirty. The window only opened a couple of inches and it was sweltering. W took the quilt out of the cover and had the fan on all night but it was still stifling.
We booked dinner for 6 of us on arrival. When I asked if the time mattered that much (2 out of 6 of us hadn't yet arrived) I was told, 'We do like people to stick to their times as we have 26 booked in and they might all arrive at once'. We weren't told where the restaurant was and it wasn't well signposted. We just sort of stumbled upon it tentatively opening the door as it looked like a detelict building from the outside.
The restaurant was completely empty apart from us, but even so, the food was pretty poor. I ordered ravioli which was mostly raw and when I sent it back I was told it was very thick pasta, as if I'd never had pasta before. I then had fish and chips but ended up eating after everyone else. It was okay. There was a ridiculous amount of business about meal deals and who was paying for what before we even ordered. He wanted to split bills up front which was a bit strange.
Breakfast was also a bit of a sad affair with just 2 other people in the restaurant the first day. The food was nicely cooked though. But at 10.30 we were told they were locking up, so had to leave.
I don't think this Premier Inn is long for this world. There are no lifts, no air con, and barely a food offer.
It wasn't very hospitable.
