"Pleasant trip"
The staff were very helpful as I have mobility problems and we were later than anticipated so they got us into the restaurant before it closed.
Location was perfect for our onward journey to Liverpool, rooms were clean and the bed was comfy.

"Excellent staff, neglected room"
The staff has been so brilliant throughout. Every staff member I interacted with has been very helpful, and I could feel that they're taking a personal interest in helping me. I had some unfortunate issues getting to the place on time, so I had to call them to figure out what happens to my booking if I cannot get there to check in on time, and they have been so brilliant and helpful to sort something out for me. I was so grateful.
If I had to rate the staff only, I would be giving a shining 5-star review. Unfortunately, the room's quality was really quite awful. You don't expect much from a Premier Inn room, but you would expect a working tv, clean bathroom, and working lights. The tv couldn't be turned on because several buttons on the remote didn't work. The bathroom felt unclean: there was a thick (and I mean thick!!!) rim of grime around the soap dispenser's top. It felt disgusting using it. There was also a thick layer of brown mucus on the underside of the bathtub's plug. In terms of the light, there were 7 light sources in the room: 3 small lights, 3 ceiling lights, and 1 wall light. 1 of the ceiling lights and the wall light didn't work, which left the room feeling very dark. To top things off, the flush in the bathroom, which has been very weak from the start of my stay, completely gave up and stopped working before I left.
I wish I could rate my stay higher because of how helpful the staff has been, but the room has so many unresolved issues that it didn't even feel worth raising them. There were simply too many things wrong to meaningfully elevate my stay by getting any single one of them fixed.

"Totally grim"
How people rate this hotel is beyond belief. It is without doubt the worst room I have ever encountered. Walls are barely painted, there was mold or damp that would catch your breath every time I entered . Bathroom was completely outdated but at least had hot water. If this place doesn't need a total revamp then Premier Inn definitely won't be an option moving forward. I stayed here simply because of location for a meeting and paid £154 for the pleasure without breakfast. This place would feel like a rip off at £50 per night. Even the free WiFi was awful. The only good thing was plenty of onsite parking. Grim is how I would sum up my night.

"Return Visit"
It is almost exactly a year since my last stay, and my last review of this place. My opinion hasn't changed. It is still convenient for the NEC, with its proximity to the M6. The room was perfectly fine. But my sleep was somewhat disturbed by noise and commotion from other guests, although that is a minor niggle. I had one of the larger rooms, with space for an extra bed, and this additional space was appreciated. The TV is far too small however and badly situated. It is too high up and off to the side. It is impossible to read graphics at that distance. With a tiny screen like that, it really ought to be lower down and more central, so not very well thought out.
I also risked dinner at the adjacent restaurant. My experience last time was not great, and I also experienced issues this time around (see pictures). I sampled two of the starters: Firstly, the felafels. These were slightly pale and it was clear from the uneven browning that they had simply been grilled. Ideally felafels should be deep fried, but if they are baked, they should be golden and crispy. These weren't. They were too soft and crumbly. Secondly, the crispy prawns. These were better, and the spicy mayo made all the difference. But overall, in both cases, they were not very hot. Both came out lukewarm at best. For my main course I opted for an 8oz sirloin. To be fair this was well cooked and the peppercorn sauce was really good. A pity the peas were slightly shrivelled and insipid, but that is not a deal-breaker.
On the plus side, all the hotel and restaurant staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous throughout. I also liked that the car park was never full, unlike at some Premier Inns where - if you arrive later in the evening - the car park is chock-a-block, and it is impossible to find a convenient space.

"Beware of the restaurant experience!!!!!"
Room no problem.
The ramps going in the car park was that steep it smacked everything under my car, I hope there is no damage!!!
If you stay for breakfast make sure he listens when taking your order as he certainly didn't listen to me and brought the wrong order, but with me having to make a move I had no option but to make the best of it as no time to wait for it to be redone!!!!!!!!!
