From singers to sportspeople, dancers to daredevils, the world's biggest stars have come through the doors of the Genting Arena.
Are you ready to join them?
When the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) was opened by the Queen in 1976 it only contained 89,000 square metres of exhibition space. This size was almost doubled in 1980 with the addition of the Genting Arena (previously known as the LG Arena).
And with room for 16,000 screaming fans, it’s no wonder the Arena has hosted a huge array of international touring artists, from Bowie to Beyoncé. Some of the major events that have taken place at the Arena include World Wrestling, Crufts Dog Show and the BBC Sportsperson of the Year.
Part of the NEC complex, the Genting Arena sits on the outskirts of Birmingham but at the centre of a transport hub.
Right at the heart of the UK motorway network and with over 16,000 parking spaces, driving to the Arena is no problem.
Hop on any bus heading to Birmingham Airport and you’ll only have a short walk to the Arena and show time.
Jump off the train at Birmingham International Railway Station and you’re already in the NEC, just a few minutes’ walk from the Arena.
The Arena is just minutes away from Birmingham Airport. Simply take the free and fast Air-Rail Link to Birmingham International Railway Station, then it’s a short stroll to the Arena.
If you’re arriving by car, make sure you follow the electronic signs for your event. These will lead you to the nearest available car park. With express, pre-paid or just turn up and pay parking options, you’ll be able to find the best spot in no time.
The Genting Arena offers the Midlands' outstanding entertainment experience for artists and visitors alike.
Whether it requires seated or standing, an intimate academy feel or show stopping arena style, the Genting Arena has the perfect layout for any show. Check out the Genting Arena website to find out what the venue will look like for your event.
Full disabled access means everyone can enjoy the Genting Arena. This includes dedicated ticket hotlines, designated parking, wheelchair accessible viewing areas and 11 disabled toilets. Let the venue know about your special requirements when you book and they’ll arrange everything you’ll need on the day.
You’ll have no trouble finding pre or post event eats at the Genting Arena.
Inside the arena
When the Arena doors open for your event, you’ll find a range of restaurants, cafés and bars ready to take your order. With plenty of choice and speedy service, enjoy the pre-show buzz without the worry of missing the curtain call.
Feel like treating yourself? The Arena's premium concert hospitality provider, amplify, offers great food, prepared by some of the UK’s leading chefs.
Around the NEC
If you want to explore the area around the Arena, you’ll find the NEC offers plenty of options.
Why not head into Resorts World? This leisure and entertainment complex sits just across the way from the Genting Arena and has a choice of restaurants and bars, as well as a casino, spa and IMAX cinema.
