Oxford Cowley hotel

We was unfortunate to have to stay at this hotel for 2 months whilst our house was repaired during this time we suffered with numerous bites from insects/ bed bugs bites, confirmed not only by the doctors but I then had the unfortunate exspreince of seeing one crawling over my pillow & catching it putting in storage box from room which tea bags go in & taking it down to rectption my children were bitten on their backs, legs, necks etc as i was bitten pretty much everywhere their dad stayed with us at times also as we was extremely stressed out & he experiencd bad bites that are still healing now, this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, we was placed in 4 rooms due all the sheer dirtness of rooms & being bitten, staff are rude & arguementive there was 2 maybe 3 staff that was nice the rest were unhelpful & rude most of the time which the manager chris being the worst.my children cried every night because of the itchiness & stress we exspreinced whilst staying there we was booked for breakfasts but ended up cancelling it as couldnt stand going there anymore as again numerous problems with hygiene cups were filfty over 3 trays weren't washed food was inconsistent at times, & the plates had left over food on not washed properly on occasions even including random hairs. I complained throughout with the hotel but also customer relations because of how bad it was. I wouldnt wish on anyone what we went through it geneally is awful. Behind the beds are absolutely covered with dust as are rooms, there was random tables left under beds hairs stains everywhere one that looks like poo or blood in bathroom near toilet going down the wall, one room the shower was leaking so bad it starting flooding the room, no-one seems to care fully about the hotel other than the repair man who was generally lovely at all times, kettles weren't cleaned properly & were disgutsing , the hotel has many repair issues which you can clearly tell / see. There was confirmed bed bugs in another room also whilst we was there also, when talking to the staff when it started & showing bites & doctors notes & my children being on creams for the bites, the manager said & i quote ' your not being bitten" he preceded to be rude & then make me out to be the problem, as the weeks passed & i brought the caught bed bug to their attention he could no longer deny it although he did try to argue still. In room 221 the light outside it flickers, & the door bangs as it shuts outside the room, the ac buttom is broken at bottom the side & plugs near the tv came apart of the wall hanging loose, it was disgusting behind the bed very dirty, & dust around, the key holder comes off the wall as it just falls off. Also outside breakfast staff fed the cat, which may sound lovely but it then poos everywhere so as your going to breakfast you have to be careful where you stand, I also witnessed a member of staff hoovering their dog over the clean plates / unclean food so no wonder random hairs were found which again i brought to their attention numerous times. Can honestly say we didnt have a good night sleep the whole way through, we slept in the day & even then it was from exhaustion if anything. They dont always collect your rubbish, & if you have have to much rubbish they will stand making comments about it to other people, meaning we had to take out rubbish alot of the times ourselves, the last room we was in the plug was missing stain down the sink & other issues despite them " having go the room clean ready for us" after finding the bed bug in the other room. Its concerning that cleaners are always on site, however the cleanliness is really bad. I witnessed other people saying about repairs needing in their rooms & other issues even part ofnone of the doors has parts missing along the bottom, we stayed at a preimer inn last year & it was nothing like this, it really put premier inn to shame I would suggest avoiding going here & going to Westgate one or botley one instead, or even a travelodge & if you really have to go here for whatever reason take a hazard suit, no belongings so you cant worry about bed bugs hitchhiking home with you & some sleeping medication to knock you out as only way you maybe coping staying there oh & a packed lunch or something elsewhere.

We stayed at the Oxford Cowley last weekend with a number of other families. After a days sight seeing on the Saturday night we all met up at the restaurant on site for an evening meal to be told that they were not serving food due to them ‘deep cleaning’ the kitchen. However if you had pre-ordered food that would be served. We had been given no warning of this and had several very hungry children. The hotel is not in the city centre so this left us very stuck. We asked to speak to the manager to ask if we could therefore order in food if they couldn’t supply it and the answer was no as then ‘everybody would want to do that and they wouldn’t have enough space.’ The restaurant was empty, there was plenty of space….We ended up having to eat outside in the cold as none of us wanted, funnily enough, to eat takeaway in our bedrooms. We saw several other guests having to grab sandwiches from Tesco for their evening meal. There was no apology or common sense in this matter. We would not stay again.

The Premier Inn Cowley is not pretty or characterful. It is based in the middle of a industrial park, good for business visits, not so good if you want closeness to the city centre. It is quite well served by bus services though some bus stops involve a little walk. There is parking but you have to pay for it. Beware if you turn up earlier than the 3pm checkin time, you will be asked to pay £15 early check in fee. The receptionist waived our fee when we turned up at 2.30pm. Other than the receptionist, we did not see any other staff, so if we had any queries, I am not sure who or how we would have resolved it. As it was our stay went very smoothly. We only wanted somewhere to sleep and wash and for that, the Premier Inn suited us very well. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom had a bath with an overhead shower. The temperature was easy to control and the water pressure was very good. All in all a very comfortable and satisfactory stay.

Awful. The food was just terrible. You could only eat if you had a meal deal. I wish we didn’t. It would have forced us to go elsewhere. Food was burnt, poor quality. Staff just didn’t care and were acutely aware how bad it was. Only positive was the check in. Staff very polite and helpful. Do not stay here
