Scarborough (South Bay) hotel

Easy check in, very good room and comfy bed. Central in Scarborough. No Brewers' Fare for meals at the moment. Accessibility for scooters is not through the main door, look for a smaller door to the right. No car park, but there is parking around at reasonable prices.

The hotel is conveniently located for the railway station, shopping centre and the Stephen Joseph Theatre, but the area was not very attractive. Staff were very friendly, helpful and available round the clock. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but there was no fridge in the room - a point that I had not thought to check before booking. For this reason I would not choose this hotel again. Breakfast was plentiful but not especially nice. Tea, coffee, etc in the room could be replenished at any time. I thought the room and breakfast were a bit expensive.

The location is perfect for anyone visiting Scarborough, close to town and seafront. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We booked a superior room and it was definitely worth the extra, even had a sea view, but was spoiled by the dirty windows. Restaurant was a long way from reception, via a maize of corridors and doors. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone

A disappointing stay, especially as you usually know what to expect with Premier Inns. I arrived after a very long drive and a busy day, feeling exhausted and just wanting to get to bed. The automatic check-in was great, although finding my room involved a long walk through what felt like a labyrinth of corridors. The room itself seemed fine at first. Unfortunately, the bathroom was quite dirty, with urine on the floor and down the wall next to the toilet. It was unpleasant to discover, and although I could (and probably should) have complained, I was so tired that I cleaned it up myself and went to bed. Aside from that, the stay was otherwise fine. One thing to note is that you can't drive directly up to reception, so you'll need to carry your bags from the car. I also couldn't see a designated parking area. On the positive side, there were plenty of nice-looking restaurants and cafés on the same street, which was convenient. Overall, not quite the standard I would normally expect from a Premier Inn.

I was looking forward to my stay but was very disappointed with my room. There was an orange stain on my bed covers, Dust and cobwebs on my bathroom door, my bath shower was all greasy on the base as if its not been rinsed down from the last persons shower and products. I was there for a work trip and on the Monday night I went to the restaurant to have some food just to see a paper sign saying it was closed. I went and got some food from a local Chinese take out, when i get back i asked a staff member on reception for a plate and knife and fork. She brought me back a bowl and said they didn't have any cutlery. I said to her that i need at least a fork to eat my food and she provided to tell me that the restaurant uses plastic cutely and it was closed as they ran out. What restaurant only used plastic cutlery and I know that was a lie as id been down that morning to get a drink and saw all the proper cutlery. I asked her multiple times to please get me a fork and she kept saying there isn't any. Luckily I had a plastic fork in my bag from the lunch I took to work so I used that but that was just ridicules. To top it off, I got a shower on my second night and when I got out I obviously put the provided towel around me. When I took the towel off I noticed a long black hair on my stomach... I HAVE NATRUAL LIGHT BLONDE HAIR!!!!! Absolutely disgusted by this and will not be staying here again or recommending to anyone. Taken together, the cleanliness issues, the poor standard of service and the experience with the restaurant have left me extremely disappointed with my stay. I expected a much higher standard and certainly did not expect to encounter these kinds of issues. I will not be staying at this hotel again and, based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending it to anyone else.
