Portsmouth (Havant) hotel

Well well well what can i say about this visit!! Liv was absolutely fantastic, fully on board with my egg obsession 🤣 very welcoming, warm and always smiling 🥰. Now...I come here a fair bit and I do have my usual favourite chef mostly because of his amazing poached egg skills, HOWEVER there appears to be some healthy competition on the go because LIAM.....his poached egg was SO perfect that I had to order more to make sure it wasnt a fluke, it was not a fluke, was the best poached egg ive ever had in my life! (I'm sorry usual chef guy but when your leg has healed theres gonna be competition 🤣). The video speaks for itself...LOOK AT THAT POP! (It wouldnt let me post the video 😭 so here's a screenshot) Thank you guys, as usual my favourite place to go for breakfast 😋 especially as you entertain my weirdness 🤣.

We had problems in the bathroom - the shower door was hung the wrong way around and the damp smell was overwhelming! There was a table in one corner with no light to see by! The restaurant is across the car park so we got very wet getting to breakfast!

Great location good smooth check in, food delicious and served with a smile - by Grace and Emma & Darien the chef 🧑‍🍳 great too - Yvette on front desk - were all amazing 🤩

We only stayed here because it was close to family whilst visiting. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room stank of chemicals which we later concluded was due to a newly fitted carpet. As an asthma sufferer we had to leave the window open for the duration of our stay. The room was spacious and newly decorated. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom taps were tatty with the chrome plating missing in patches so clearly had not been refurbished. I later learned from my cousin that the rooms had been refurbished in the last year having previously been awful. The cooked breakfast was mass produced and not great quality. No fresh fruit option, just pre-frozen mixed berries but there was plenty of choice for bread and pastries. Outside, plenty of safe parking which was free. It was easy to find just off the major road network. Would we stay again, probably no. A bit disappointing but maybe the refurbishment is not yet fully completed.
