Petersfield hotel

Hotel no problems but Beefeater was a nightmare. Lovely PI waiting staff, trying their best, but waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a starter of nachos. Just how long does it take to open a packet and throw on some cheese and chilli? Totally rubbish even if we get to our main and it’s ok, this is unacceptable.

We turned up to the hotel after a long ferry journey! We wanted a stop off to relax! We arrived at 9.10pm the food had stopped, we were told to go to mc Donald’s across the road, we rushed back for 9.30 hoping for a relaxing drink! To find the bar completely closed! On a Thursday evening! I understand if not busy! But it’s a hotel! The bar should stay open until the times it advertises! Really not good at all!!

It is the best Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, nice room, excellent shower, comfy bed, helpful staff. I would love to stay there again. Good air con. lots of parking space. very conveniently placed.

The location is excellent for what I need. Staff are always friendly. I’ve stayed in many of the rooms. All have been clean and any issues resolved quickly

The room was clean, and looked presentable. However the room was dimly lit, not helped by more than one blown bulb in the room. There was a stand up lamp included in the room to further help with lighting, but it wasn't that effective and the on/off switch temperamental initially making us think the light didn't work. The I/O for the TV appeared to have been either poorly fitted as an afterthought, or had been damaged in the past but poorly repaired. There were no plug sockets, by the beds, which in this day and age was surprising as we've stayed at much lower budget hotels that have had either a 3 pin mains, or usb charger by the bed. Fortunately we'd bought battery packs with us, and were able to use those for an overnight phone charge. We did have a good nights sleep in the room as the bed was comfortable, however the bed was on wheels with no visible way to lock them (not that we should need to), which meant it could be easily moved unintentionally. Additionally although we appreciate the fact you include extra pillows in the room for those that need them, they were placed on such a high shelf they were hard to reach and required my wife to stand on a chair. Yes we could have gone to reception and asked for someone to get them down for us, but that shouldn't have been necessary, and would have been inconvenient as we were dressed for bed. The curtains also had pinholes in and visible parts where the inner linings of the curtains had come away. Functionally insignificant, but added to the overall impression that proper upkeep and attention to detail is lacking. So overall good night's sleep (once we'd grabbed the extra pillows) but you let yourselves down on the little things. Would we stay again... Maybe, I would worry that perhaps should stay again in future things may have degraded further in ways that would have a more noticeable impact on our stay. I would like to add as well, this isn't the standard we've observed when staying at other premier inn hotels, and generally not noticed similar issues at any of those.
