Manchester Central hotel

I only stayed here as my usual manchester hotels were really expensive on this night but I won’t return here Check in through machines was ok tho it doesn’t print out what business travellers will know as a VAT receipt , the staff member kept my case for me to save me taking it to office which was handy Room was smaller than any other premier inn room I’ve stayed in, bathroom tiny as you had to jam yourself in between the loo and the sink to use it. Water pressure really poor Mattress was the worst hotel mattress I’ve slept on in a long time, really lumpy and clearly needs changed as I could feel springs - not great for a hotel that tries to sell you its mattress No plug socket or usb beside bed which is very poor these days This hotel needs a good refurb

Stayed here for 2 days. Self check in smooth. Prem plus room nice and clean, quiet, spacious and comfy bed. Bathroom was nice and clean. Shower tap was very stiff with cal. Breakfast was a disaster. Never was there a full complement of cooked options available. Would be partially understandable if it was busy but it was really only ever half full. Continually ran out of 2 or 3 items. Ran out of cups for coffee, small plates for toast, croissants, granola etc etc. Only 1 milk option for cereal. Continually having to ask a member of staff for something.Breakfast area was grubby, Worn out seats. In the bar area the bench seating was even worse. Totally ripped open. Very scruffy. Needs a complete refurb. Definitely nothing premier about it!

Pros Location was good, rooms were decent size and clean. Bathroom was reasonably modern. Breakfast was good, nice range in the continental breakfast. Staff in the breakfast space were helpful and attentive. Cons Check in was difficult and staff were not overly accommodating with holding bags until 3pm. We booked through a 3rd party- which their system doesn’t recognise. Recommend booking directly if you can to save hassles and wasted time. The bar was cash only and had limited options, but drinks were reasonably priced.

Arrived at hotel first impressions not the best -homeless person lying outside and rubbish outside entrance Staff were friendly and self check in nice and easy Room was good size and front facing the tram Lines .suprisingly nice and quiet the room itself needed a good wipe down especially desk and side shelves near the beds .went out for drinks and food came back and could smell weed and cannabis in the bathroom not sure why couldn’t smell it in the corridors .so not great but on a good note air conditioning was fab ! Hotels in a good location to go into town and plenty of transport options .

Reliable Premier inn. Couldn’t fault it to be honest. Obviously it’s not exclusively posh. But it does the job. Comfy bed, very secure, clean rooms and great reception. Kept our bags for the rest of the day while we went out after checking out too. Great value for money.
