The evolution of live music in London

The era of punk in London and across the UK saw gigs and live shows get a whole lot rowdier. Decked out in band badges, safety pins, battered Doc Martins and jeans so tight you could barely get them off, you’d have to muscle yourself to the front of the gig to get the best spot to pogo in. Fancy a seat? You’d be out of luck in the 70s – by the end of some punk gigs even the seats had been ripped up!

Tell us why you think the 70s was the best decade to experience live music.
