Chessington hotel

Absolutely awful experience. To echo others, I thought I knew what I was getting with a Premier Inn stay. There was an internal door between our room and the next door room, which meant sound proofing was minimal. You could also hear kids running around upstairs. Breakfast at the restaurant was awful, 6 degrees outside and the Aircon was on full blast. Food wasn't hot. We left after one night into our two night stay. Absolutely diabolical, really hoping can get a refund as definitely did not live upto a good night's sleep guarantee. Really disappointed.

Very disappointing – families beware during half term We stayed at Chessington Premier Inn during October half term and were incredibly disappointed with the restaurant. After a long day travelling, we arrived at around 6pm with our young child, only to be told the restaurant was fully booked and the earliest we could eat was 8:30pm. I understand that restaurants can become full but what makes this particularly frustrating is that when we went into the restaurant, there were only around SIX tables occupied, with just TWO further tables displaying reservations (see photo). This is hardly what you’d expect from a restaurant supposedly fully booked. I appreciate restaurants get busy, but this hotel is specifically catering for families visiting Chessington, particularly during school holidays. How is it acceptable that guests staying at the hotel cannot get an evening meal at a reasonable time? There was no warning in any pre-arrival emails that booking was essential or that availability would be so limited. I’ve raised this twice in person and twice with head office. Unfortunately, Premier Inn’s responses have been incredibly dismissive. They clearly have very little interest in listening to feedback or addressing the problem. It’s not just the poor experience that’s disappointing, it’s the complete lack of care afterwards. If you’re considering staying here with children during half term, be warned. Don’t assume you’ll actually be able to eat in the hotel restaurant. We certainly won’t be rushing back.

First, the positive things: very convenient location for Chessington Adventure Park, comfortable beds and although facing the park there was no noise due to the thick double/triple glazed windows that had proper blackout blinds. What let our stay down was the dinner at the next door pub restaurant. Extremely slow service and kitchen and the burger was still half pink. The restaurant wasn't even full. The breakfast isn't something to shout about but was good enough

On arrival, there was plenty of parking and check-in was really easy. Jay on reception was so friendly and helpful, which was a lovely start to our stay. The room was clean and looked as though it had been recently renovated. The only downside was that the bath was very high, making it quite difficult to get in and out of. We ate in the restaurant, which was really good value for money, especially with two children. However, it was very cold in there, and there was no outside lighting, so we had to use our phone torches to see. At times, there seemed to be only one person working in the restaurant, taking orders and seating guests. Ashley was absolutely fabulous, though, and handled everything brilliantly. The hotel is in a great location for Chessington, and despite a few minor issues, we really enjoyed our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Stayed recently for a trip to chessington world of adventures. Tried to ring ahead to confirm if it was free parking to avoid theme park charge but nobody answered. Rang over 10 times at different stages of the day, so it was unfortunate we never got the answer. Room was clean, everything as expected. I had read many bad reviews of the food here so we chose to avoid dinner. Took a risk with breakfast and luckily it was all fine. Plenty of food, spacious, bit of an abandoned building look but it was not the experience others had shared luckily. Staff we encountered were all helpful. Overall I would stay again if I needed to visit the theme park.
