Poole North hotel

We checked into this lovely hotel today. Late afternoon. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Beautiful tiny fairy lights adorn the ground floor windows. There is an attractive bar just inside on the ground floor. Our room is enormous with an en-suite bathroom. There is a very welcoming restaurant on the ground floor. Then there’s the food! Well, I haven’t tasted food that good when I have eaten out, since the 1970’s. Wonderful flavours which I never expected to taste again. The staff are so helpful, welcoming and friendly. I’m almost scared to submit this review in case it encourages too many people to book to stay here and there won’t be room for me! My Husband and I will be staying here again for our 55th wedding anniversary in March next year. Fingers crossed that there will be room for us! 💕

This place always offers a great stay rooms are comfortable and the restaurant and the team are amazing and always accommodating. The food is always good and comes out the kitchen hot and tasty.

This is our last night of a four night stay & we have had the best time. The location is good. Our room was very clean. The food is great & all the staff are amazing. Special mentions to Kieran, Punam, Louie & Lily. They are work really hard & are very friendly. They are all a credit to the company. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

Ozzy at reception struggled to understand we had an early check in. He would rather throw his arms in the air from across the room exclaiming thats what i asked instead of coming over and talking at reception. Staff on friday had to come back three times to confirm two pints of madri. I suspect because they kept stopping at the station, en route to the bar, where one of their colleagues was at to laugh and chat before turning around and coming back to ask our order again. Broken shards of glass under our coffee mugs found in the morning of our stay. A nice room with a comfortable bed all forgotten when dealing with difficult or carefree staff throughout the stay and glass in your morning coffee mug.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before and always found it excellent but sadly not this time. The decor is looking tired throughout and in need of a refresh. Our room was clean and there was the usual comfortable bed but the aircon/heating unit made a loud noise all of the time it was on and clearly needs replacing. However, the main problems were in restaurant, where we had breakfast and dinner. We invited some local family members to join us for dinner. Several of the staff serving drinks and meals were insufficiently trained. They either didn't write down our orders properly or didn't read what they had written, so the wrong things were brought to us. Also, the chef had decided to add huge amounts of chilli to savoury dishes where the menu didn't state that chilli would be included. He put so many raw chillis into what was described as a medium spiced curry that it was completely inedible, The server apologised and offered a refund or another dish. I ordered another dish but waited so long for it that my companions had finished theirs before I got it. When we left another member of staff tried to charge us for the inedible meal and argued with my husband when he explained why we had ordered another. The staff also permitted a group of children to sit in the restaurant playing games, which wouldn't have been a problem but, despite sitting closely together, they were shouting at each other and over boiterous. They appeared to be unsupervised and no-one asked them to keep the noise down. Their noisiness caused other diners to speak very loudly to make themselves heard and made it almost impossible for us to have a conversation at our table.
