Premier Inn, the UK’s biggest budget hotel chain, walked away with three awards at the 2011 British Travel Awards last night [2nd November 2011], beating off strong competition from the likes of RIU Hotels & Resorts and Hilton.
The awards are voted for by the public, and they named Premier Inn ‘Hotel Chain of the Year’ for the second year running, as well as voting Premier Inn ‘Business Hotel Chain of the Year’ and ‘Leisure Hotel Chain of the Year.’
The 2011 British Travel Awards celebrate a line up of winning travel companies as voted for by the British public. This year more than 700,000 votes were cast – three times more than last year – making The British Travel Awards (BTA) the largest independent awards scheme in the UK.
Patrick Dempsey, Managing Director for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, commented, “We are absolutely delighted to win three awards and would like to thank everyone who voted for us. Our teams work hard to ensure that our customers have a good night's sleep at Premier Inn. We provide high quality accommodation at very good value, making Premier Inn a perfect choice for both business and leisure guests.”
