"Lovely location - needs more staff"
Location of this hotel is amazing - a 5-10 minute walk from the railway station and took us about 20 -30 mins to walk over to York Minster.
Great bus routes either outside or round the corner (for the outlets).
A few different food places and a shop close by.
The staff member who checked us in was lovely - just very busy. When I tried to use the kiosk to check in, it said our room wasn't ready (after 3pm) but I got checked in at the reception desk straightaway so not sure why it didn't work.
Other staff members we interacted with were not so great - not only did they take a long time to respond to the buzzer, it felt like we were inconveniencing them by ringing the buzzer and them having to help us.
The bar / restaurant was huge but unfortunately we never ate or drank there. The first night, it took ages for anyone to even come and serve the people in front of us so we left and got good at KFC instead.
We went elsewhere for breakfast in the morning, and then when we headed back to the bar for some shelter from the sun, until we had to leave, we were told the bar didn't open until 5pm. Definitely not enough staff in place.
The room was lovely- clean enough and big. The shower was amazing.
The air con was a pain - it reset every so often so I had to keep getting up during the night to amend it.

"Not your typical Premier Inn"
Firstly the photo of this PI has been photoshopped. The white building in centre is not part of the hotel but a not in use. It is a ransom building which, at present the owners will not sell to PI. As a result PI Bloosom St, is termed BS North and BS South. We stayed in Bloosom St North.
BSN staff were really nice and helpful with, the hotel not the usual PI layout. The rooms are in 3 separate buildings surrounding a courtyard. The rooms are standard PI. The hotel bar (not a particularly good choice of draft beers) and restaurant and in the Bloosom St South building,
Breakfast was ok but certain items, toast, sausages and black puddings where somewhat over cooked. Ok, but not really up to PI cooked breakfast standards.
Overall an ok place to stay which will improver once PI manage to buy and incorporate the white ransom building to within the hotel, Hopefully they will get one day.

"Typical Premier Inn, minimum staff, minimum service"
So, I usually wait until I have left a hotel before leaving feedback but will make an exception for this. We booked for 2 nights and paid up front for breakfast on Saturday. When we came down for breakfast there was no staff to be seen and a couple of guests told us they were short staffed and the chef hadn’t turned up.
A notice had been placed on the hot food server to state that there was no breakfast available.
Unbelievable that premier inn, who promote themselves on a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast do not have any contingency plan in place for this kind of situation.
The young man on reception was helpful and refunded us all for breakfast. Luckily there is a delightful cafe 5 minutes down the road so we enjoyed breakfast there on both days.
Also, due to the limited number of staff, the bar is barely manned, and to be honest, very poorly stocked.
It’s a great shame because this hotel is well situated for both the station and the city centre. The staff they do have are excellent and I imagine have to deal with a lot of disgruntled guests due to no fault of their own.

"Not good"
The location of this Premier Inn is convenient as it is near to the station and the city centre. The room itself was a total let down. It had peeling paint on the window sill together with mould and cobwebs in the corners. That part of the room had not been cleaned for a while.
Several of the carpet treads on the stairs were loose which are a trip hazard. The lifts were out of order and had been for quite a while and were still not working when we left 5 days later.
There was no noise that disturbed us.
All staff were friendly and helpful.

"Terrible"
Terrible experience lifts were broke. My disabled husband asked for lower floor.we got room on ground floor. When we went room pass key didnt work back and forwards to reception. Got in room via staff pas key. Then told that we were told we couldnt stay in the room because we woul get locked out so moved to another ground floor room. The room was too hot so opened window and noticed staff outside our room smoking. When we checked out I notice £100 charge from premier inn for smoking.phoned manager and he was totally unreasonably saying fag ash on windowsill it certainly wasnt off us. I asked for evidence which hasnt being provided.
